"Wolf problems?" the farmer repeats, bewildered. He lowers his pitchfork. "No, nothing like that. And missing girl? You must mean Omella, my sister. She's no girl, though, she's a grown woman. She vanished last night. Went to bed and when I got up, she was gone. Do you know something about that?" he asks.

"Did you hear or see anything last night that was out of the norm? Was there anything missing other than your sister or anything out of place in the morning? Could we check out her bedroom for any clues as to her interference? It could help us find her.", Maria asks politely.

The farmer looks down at the nine year old girl with puzzlement and scratches his head. "Uh, no, nothing strange. We went to bed for the night, and when I woke up, she was gone. As far as I could see, nothing was missing. Well, the window was hanging open...I don't remember leaving it open, but maybe I just forgot." He shrugs. "I guess you all can come in, if you want. Just don't make a mess."
The farmer invites them inside to the farmhouse. It's a simple, rustic home. The bedroom has two single beds with a chamber pot beneath them both, a dresser full of clothes, and a nightstand with an unlit candle on it. Nothing seems strange or unusual about the room that they can see.

Drezden uses his ranger training and searches for any tracks or footprints left outside the open window that the farmer swore was shut.

Maria takes a closer look at the window pane and the window itself for any clues. She tries to surmise how the woman might have been taken by logically using her observations of the bed where she probably slept in, the distance from the window and anything out of the ordinary in between.

"You're talking 'bout the night dwarves, right?" the farmer asks Gribben. "I've heard of 'em, sure. Most of us have. Actually, now that you mention it, Omella said she saw them once, a few nights ago. Said she saw 'em runnin' 'round the field one night through her window. There's an old oak tree just off the property. She said they walked up to it, 'bout three or four of 'em, and touched the tree. Then they vanished. I figured she was just having a dream."
Drezden searches around for tracks, but fails to find any. Meanwhile, Maria looks all over the room. She finds some nettles and a couple of thorns on the ground between the bed and window. The window is certainly opened wide enough for a person to fit through it, too.

Eringard, too, has a question for the farmer: "Can the window be opened from the outside?" She is no expert, she wouldn't be able to tell if it was forced open except if there was obvious damage.

The farmer scratches his head. "Other people have vanished, too? I hadn't heard of that. You might try asking the innkeeper, though. She gets all the good gossip from town." To Eringard, he adds, "Yeah, I suppose it could. Wait, are you suggesting someone kidnapped her? But why? She ain't no noble or anything."

Gribben- Maybe that is why she was taken. They saw her spot them, and they took her.

The farmer appears alarmed by the idea. "Yer sayin' the night dwarves took her! Chauntea, why in the world would they do that? They aren't goin' to eat her or nothin', are they?"

Drezden "Not sure I don't recall any history about em eating people but something about eating blood and bones of animals." the dwarf ranger tries to remember more of the lore he was taught.
