I'm a sucker for character customization.

Oh, yeah. It does have that in spades. In fact, apparently the way you design your character can actually affect their performance. So if you make a really small character, they actually have weaker physical attacks but higher speed and if you make a big, hulking character, they are slower but hit harder.

Don't worry. You aren't missing much when it comes to Dragonball.

I have to say, as someone who has watched Dragon Ball since he was a kid...you aren't wrong there.

I have to say, as someone who has watched Dragon Ball since he was a kid...you aren't wrong there. Pretty much. Dragon Ball is good because it's bad. That and I was like, 8(?) When I originally watched it on saturday mornings. It was not, thankfully, my first anime though I do love me some dragon ball Z abridged though. As to Xenoverse-I played the first one, it was decent, but it was clearly originally designed to be an MMO, then turned into the single-player game it is now. The RNG in it is atrociously bad. I've seen people playing Xenoverse 2 and from what I can tell it's only marginally better? The character creator is pretty nice. I will admit the dragon ball movie Battle of Gods was really fun/enjoyable. Whis and Beerus are amazingly refreshing frenemies.

I loved Dragon Ball Z as a kid, but I didn't know better back then. Even now, there are instances of real quality tucked away in the constant padding for time that doesn't go anywhere. I think that's what is really frustrating. If Dragon Ball just plain sucked, I could easily walk away. But there is a core of quality there, if they just made a few changes. I agree that DBZ Abridged is far better quality than the actual show. Largely because they cut out all the padding and actually acknowledge the kind of stuff the real show ignores or glosses over (like what a terrible husband and father Goku is, how messed up Gohan would be growing up in that sort of environment, etc.).

Yup, DBZ is very much one of the originators for 'filler'. The thing is, Toriyama is very talented when he wants to be. I also give props to any writer, who when asked about cannonity and 'hey doesn't what you just did conflict with X or Y' just calmly states into a hot mic that he doesn't care and it's not important.

So...today, I started playing Star Trek Online. I only just got past the tutorial, but it was really awesome so far. I can definitely see why you enjoy it, Daos!

Ooh, PC or Console? If you're on PC we can play together.
Federation, Klingon Empire or Romulan Republic? Which race?
Did you check out the winter event yet? Q's Winter Wonderland. It's great. Snow Borg, Snowconians, ice races, Klingon ice fishing, and the new event this year, the Kramp’lhri.

I'm on PC, and I used the custom "alien" race. As I said, I only just got past the tutorial, but I look forward to fully exploring the game!

I've got five characters at this point. I started playing in December of 2013, so I guess it's been four years now. My main character is Daos, a Vulcan Federation Science Officer. He flies the USS Osana, a Pathfinder class vessel. Horizon actually bought it for me for my birthday a couple of years back. I also have a Klingon KDF Tactical Officer named Vokna. She flies the IKS pemHov, a Qa'Tel class flight deck raptor with its own squad of To'Duj Fighters. I bought this one last year. Next is my Romulan Republic Engineering Officer, Julak. He flies the RRW Tiaru, a Ha'apax Advanced Warbird. It's massive. Biggest ship I have, but really slow. My Delta Recruit, a Federation Human Engineering Officer named Komal. She flies the USS Indra, a Noble class assault cruiser. (And apparently I never took a picture of it? So here's the USS Midway instead.) And finally, my Temporal Recruit, a Tellarite Federation Science Officer named Gimak. He flies a Sol class vessel called the USS Gonto. Horizons used to play with me, but she never has time anymore. She has a Federation Bajoran Tactical Officer named Shalad. We used to team up all of the time. She flies the USS Kejal, a Prometheus class vessel. I bought it for her on her birthday a couple of years back.

By the way, my game handle is @soulstaffmage if you want to add me to your friends list, in case you need help on anything. I usually play about an hour a day.

My main character is Daos, a Vulcan Federation Science Officer. Why am I not surprised?

Anyway, of what I've played so far, the game is awesome, but the game entering loading screen is on par with Sonic 06.
