So, both of you have finished your characters, leaving only my brother not quite done. If you guys don't have any objections, I can work with him on it off-site, and then I'll officially post it here. After that, WoD will be having a hiatus of sorts until he gets screens back (which is June 16 right now, but it could be earlier if he's well behaved).

I thought it was June 2nd. Did he get in trouble again?

...yes. I had to give him an ultimatum.

Okay. Well, in the meantime we can discuss some details of the game. Like, will any of our characters know each other before we start?

I was thinking not. Besides my concept having them all arrive separately at Meyerville (that's what the town is called) and meet for the first time, none of your backstories coincide in any way.
On an unrelated note, I only recently noticed that the party consists of A. All races whose names contain "Half;" B. A LG character and two CN characters. Oh boy.

Chaotic Neutral is not (necessarily) Chaotic Stupid. Bayla might get into some shenanigans, but I'm not about to deliberately ruin your first campaign <3

Chaotic Neutral is not (necessarily) Chaotic Stupid. Bayla might get into some shenanigans, but I'm not about to deliberately ruin your first campaign <3 Thanks! Of course, when I wrote that, I was thinking scenarios more like this: Daos: Well, now that we've knocked this goblin unconscious, we can take him prisoner. Bayla: Nah, we don't have any rope. We could kill him instead, if that would be easier. Daos: Actually- Melvin: Wait, let's see if he has anything valuable first. Daos: *sigh* They're still following a good cause, although they are using less "heroic" methods that Daos (the character) might feel a bit uncomfortable with. (Sorry if the example doesn't quite fit with Bayla's personality and behavior)

Is your brother playing a half-human, too?
And yeah, somehow I always wind up with a party that's either majority Chaotic or entirely Chaotic whenever I DM. I don't know if it's coincidence or just a really popular alignment.
Anyway, so we don't know each other at all from the start. Okay. It'll be fun to figure each other out in game then.
I usually make my characters pretty tolerant overall. As long as they aren't trying to murder everyone we encounter, there shouldn't be too much friction among us.

Looks like Silverblade's character is done? Or close to it, perhaps.

Almost; we still need to do background stuff and Background stuff, but that's pretty much it. Like I said, I've been working on it with him IRL.

Hello, it's Gravity again. Silverblade is dictating Melvin's background to me.
Melvin was in a Halfling village, and then some orcs invaded the village and killed his mom and dad, so now he was an orphan. Also, he hates orcs now. After the orcs left, a Wood Elf, a member of a benevolent band of theives, adopted him and trained him in their theify ways. One day, orcs were marauding again. They attacked the band, and they fought them off pretty well, but they still killed Melvin's mentor, the elf. He got really mad and tried to kill them, but he didn't kill much of them. He ran away searching for the orcs that killed his parents, and now he's a sort of robber-mercenary.
Some parts of the backstory we had decided on earlier, but Silverblade skimmed over this time:
The orcs took him back to their camp, which was where the Wood Elf found him.
The Wood Elf had discovered which band of orcs had killed Melvin's parents, but died before he could tell him.
Melvin is a bit of a kleptomaniac.

Sounds like he's going to get along swimmingly with Bayla then.
