Everybody, welcome to the character creation thread! You guys can start out by rolling 4d6b3 six times. WalMarth , to roll, select the icon of the die in the top bar and input what you want to roll.

GSDOnCoL1d61d61d61d6 = 14 1d61d61d61d6 = 18 1d61d61d61d6 = 10 1d61d61d61d6 = 13 1d61d61d61d6 = 14 1d61d61d61d6 = 17
Well, that's the best I've rolled so far in 5E. 1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6

SXEYVskX1d61d61d61d6 = 9 1d61d61d61d6 = 13 1d61d61d61d6 = 12 1d61d61d61d6= 12 1d61d61d61d6 = 11 1d61d61d61d6 = 13
... Well. Those are some rolls. Yup.
I'm clearly not going to be playing a caster when my highest stat is a 13.
Let's go the opposite way! Half-orc Barbarian! 1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6·1d6

I think I'll wait and see what everyone else is going to play before committing myself to anything just yet.
Can we know a little bit more about this world, though? Is it pretty standard D&D stuff?

Yes, pretty standard. Well, mostly...
Mountain Dwarves and High Elves both despise each other and scorn their other subraces (Hill Dwarves and Wood Elves) for being inferior. Because of this, they get along quite well, and many have formed their own communities. Dark Elves were banished to the Underdark for the same reason; there, they were corrupted beyond redemption. This caused the High Elves to claim that their evilness and worshiping of Lolth was the reason they were banished, when it was actually a product of it.
Half-Elves are an unusual case. High Elves look down on them, and if the Elven parent is one of them, they are publicly disgraced and often banished. Most other races, humans included, are acceptant of them, and Wood Elves welcome them with open arms.
Meanwhile, Dragonborn are EXTREMELY rare, as they live on a continent far away from the rest of the world, one which is rife with civil dispute, succession wars, and overall bloodthirstiness. Said continent is divided into two nation: one of Chromatic Dragonborn, and one of Metallic. This epoch of blood and death began when the latter waged a "holy crusade" against the former, but within a few decades, it devolved into ruthless and senseless destruction from both sides.
So, what do we get from this information? No Drow or Dragonborn PCs, and High Elves are jerks.

So Ezeze is playing a half-orc barbarian. Any word on what WalMarth wants to play? And how goes the selection process for the fourth player?

WalMarth hasn't yet picked what to play, and separate recruitment are going decently.

Well, WalMarth hasn't said or done anything since he told me he was from Serenes Forest, and with the game pace I'm hoping for, this may not work out. In case he still wants to join in, I'll roll for him. SK8obKph4d64d64d64d64d64d6EDIT: ...how did you do the best 3 thing? 4d6b3·4d6b3·4d6b3·4d6b3·4d6b3·4d6b3

The forum die roller doesn't interpret letters well, so when you typed in 4d6b3, it seems to have thought you were saying 4d603.
Anyway, you just have to roll 4d6, then mentally drop the lowest one yourself. I fixed your dice rolls, so they turned out:
13, 11, 13, 15, 13, 12

Still watching the thread. Don't want you thinking I've wandered off just because I haven't posted here in a few days

Unfortunately, Walmarth had to drop out of the game. Just keeping you updated.

Okay. In the interim, I wanted to ask about religion. Are you using a specific pantheon, like Forgotten Realm's or Greyhawk's, or do you have a homebrewed one?

We'll go with Forgotten Realms, although I don't expect religion to play a large part in this game.

Well, with Walmarth dropping out and off-site recruiting driving to a halt, I sadly don’t see us finding four players in time. However, we’ll almost definitely be able to get three. My brother is ungrounded on June 2 (which also happens to be my birthday), and he has expressed interest in joining the game. Until then, you guys can work on your characters, while I do so on the adventure. Sounds good?

Okay. Any idea what your brother is going to play?
