The Hunter clan have ever been Faithful Patriots. His parents, Thesilio “Threefingers” Jonquil and Serara Ebonshield served honorably until retirement in the 167th Shield Land “Ironguard” Infantry. His uncle was a Magus Commander in the Arcanum, and was slain during Iuz’s first invasion. His older half brother is a Lancer in the Silver Drake Cavalry and his middle sister is a Color Sergeant in the Queen’s Forests Rangers. Nearly every Faithful organization has a handful of his cousins and distant relations in its ranks. The Shield Lands rolls of Honor are full of Hunter clan members.
Wethun’s childhood was good all things considered. He spent the first several years of his life assisting his parents in their small general store. He grew up in a trade town on the border with the Bandit Kingdoms. His village was full of his extended family. He is the 5th of seven children raised by his parents. Only three of the seven being blood relations. The others, orphans of slain hedge knights and soldiers, are as close to him as his blood brothers.
Wethun’s path had been laid out for him sense birth. He was schooled in the basics of combat and magic by his parents. He was taught the faith of Hieronious and sworn into his service as a squire in The Knights of Holy Shielding. He has internalized his families deep love for The Shield Lands and is a true patriot, ready to pay any price to insure the safety of his people and country.
His path would have seen him risen to Knighthood but the Armies of Iuz stole that destiny from him. That part of history is known. What is not known is the part Wethun played.
He took up arms, and marshaled along with all the Gallantry if the Shield Lands. He rode into numerous battles, and did his part to save the realm. It was not enough, it could never have been enough. The fighting withdrawal never seemed to stop. He and the other warriors were assured constantly of a promised counter attack from the south. Each withdrawal left towns aflame, men dead, men wounded, and morale breaking. In the end The Knights of Holy Shielding and their auxiliary forces were broken.
Iuz’s forces conquered his homeland and Wethun was made a slave for a time and placed into a work camp. He witnessed first hand the cruelty of the Magelords and their Orcish enforcers. His escape was manufactured by Furyundian soldiers, a force he never thought he would be thankful to see.
Freed from bondage, Wethun took up the roll of a partisan. One he has happily played for the last 3 years. He and a small band of like minded Faithful, regularly raid into their former homeland. Their aim to destabilize the orc hordes, the hobgoblin soldiery and punish collaboration when they find it. This has left the once jovial boy embittered and burning with deep seated hatreds.
He finds himself in Greatwall, trying to forget some of his troubles...seems he won’t be allowed that small joy. Sam (Blonde) and Dean (Dark) War Dogs HP 18/18 and 18/18 AC 6 (5) and 6 (5) THAC0 19 DMG 2d4 Tricks: Attack, Come, Down, Guard, Heel, and Track.
