You could try Starfinder, not quite Spelljammer, but similar in many ways. Unfortunately Piazo can't copy edit or organize their way out of a paper bag. The setting isn't horrendous but trying to look anything up in the rulebook is an exercise in frustration, rules or lore. And spelljammer has much cooler lore, imo.

You could try Starfinder, not quite Spelljammer, but similar in many ways. Not the BEST ways. i was looking at some Spelljammer translations to 5e just a couple of nights back. I’ve always wanted to play in that setting. also, Birthright.

Just a head's up, but the reason the Child of Takhisis Infiltrator feature is crossed out is because it was already claimed by Zero Prime's character. Each new bond and feature can only be chosen once, I'm afraid. Besides, while I haven't seen your backstory yet (so I dunno, maybe you find a really clever way to pull this off), I'm not sure the Children of Takhisis would ever accept a kender into their ranks. Also, Lucky is replaced by Kender Pockets.

I didn't realize there was going to be a half-kender in the group or that someone else was taking a patron... as such I'll be changing characters. Trying to get inspiration for a new character that I want to play and will integrate into the current group.

Appearance: Hope is slightly above average in height with a lithe build. She has long strawberry blond hair and piercing blue eyes. Every movement she makes has a purpose and is fluid with a practiced grace. She has a commanding presence that is accentuated by her natural beauty and noble demeanor. She wears a royal blue heavy wool cloak, white cotton tunic, black leather breeches, supple black leather boots. While she wears no armor, there is a scimitar sheathed on her left hip, a dagger on her right, and a heavy steel shield strapped to an adventurers pack on her back. The shield bears the same heraldry (House Sinclair) as a silver signet ring on her right hand. The offset of the shield also bears the symbol of Kiri-Jolith. A teenage, sandy haired boy attends her every need as her squire, while a pot-belly middle aged balding man, and young woman also accompany her.
Personality: Hope is kind, compassionate, and generally quite pleasant to be around. She is naturally charismatic and seems to genuinely enjoy helping others. That said, she can be bullheaded, stubborn and opinionated, which are not all horrible qualities alone. However, her naivety and gullibility that come from her inexperience can exasperate those issues. Hope cares what other people think of her, and makes sure she with kindness, generosity, and integrity. Despite her noble birth, she does not view herself as better than other people. She understands that respect is due to her because of her position, but believes all people, regardless or rank, race, or religion, deserve to be treated with respect. Hope believes in fighting for the common people and protecting the weak and defenseless.
Background: Hope is the only child of Henry "Haggard" Sinclair, a man who started his career as an adventurer and and retired upon being granted a minor noble title, a modest manor, and small plot of land to lord over. Hope knows nothing of her mother, and her father refuses to speak of her, though it is painfully obvious she has draconic heritage flowing through her veins. Whether this is from her mother, or some other ancestor, she has no idea. While her father wishes that Hope would remain home so he can groom her as his heir, he understands that she has been bitten by the same wanderlust bug that he had at her age. Haggard arranged for training for Hope through her teenage years to prepare her as best he could. He felt that granting her a knighthood would protect her in ways that he could not. While her training was unorthodox so say the least, his daughter is better prepared for adventure than he was at her age.

Okay, this could work. One lore thing though, is that in Dragonlance dragons cannot breed offspring with mortals. So I came up with a different explanation for Draconic Sorcerers, which have only appeared recently (like in the last few years) so far. It's a mystery still in-character, though, what is causing them to manifest. Maybe Hope can learn the secret along with Eliana, our other Draconic Sorcerer, together?

Yes, that is perfectly fine. I envision he scales only appearing late in her teenage years. The scales mostly manifest on her torso upper arms, and upper legs. Probably not visible with her traveling clothes on at all. The hook is great, because it will give her something to try and accomplish other than just adventurer and protecting others.

Sorry to keep you waiting so long. I've a bunch of other characters to process, and work has been hectic lately.
I wanted to ask about her background. "Unorthodox Knight?" Which book is that from? I can't find it online anywhere.
I also don't recognize one of her cantrips. Green Flame Blade? Is that like Flame Blade, but green? Because that's a 2nd level spell.
Also, what's her arcane focus?

No problem at all. The background was customized. I thought 5E had a specific rule for it as it was how I was taught to play in my IRL group and there is a feature for on with rules in place on DnD Beyond (where I purchased my books). Now that I am looking for the rule I have not found it. I had simply selected two skills to fit the vision, and a combination of either two tools, two languages, or one tool and one language. Then select one of the background features that most closely fits your theme. Since I cannot find it I will change it.
As for Green Flame Blade, I also thought it was core, but it is from the Sword Coast Adventurers Guide. "Source: Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide
Evocation cantrip
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 5 feet
Components: V, M (a weapon)
Duration: Instantaneous
As part of the action used to cast this spell, you must make a melee attack with a weapon against one creature within the spell's range, otherwise the spell fails. On a hit, the target suffers the attack's normal effects, and green fire leaps from the target to a different creature of your choice that you can see within 5 feet of it. The second creature takes fire damage equal to your spellcasting ability modifier.
At Higher Levels. At 5th level, the melee attack deals an extra 1d8 fire damage to the target, and the fire damage to the second creature increases to 1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier. Both damage rolls increase by 1d8 at 11th level and 17th level."
Finally, I was curious if her arcane focus could be her holy symbol which is on her shield? If not, I can get a more traditional one. EDIT: Scratch that, I'll got with an amulet.
I am more than happy to clear up anything and make any edits. I feel really dumb not realizing the background thing.

I'd be okay with making a custom background, just needed a head's up to it, and maybe walk me through where you picked all the parts from, so I can go over them individually.
Do you mind swapping out that cantrip with a core one then?

I'll fix it... just need a bit of time. Crazy busy this week. Wife had surgery (she is fine, was schedule for carpal issues) and I have an elevated homelife work load plus some OT at work. It'll clear by Friday PM.

I think I have it fixed. The Unorthodox Knight has the same background feature (Retinue) as the Knight Background. I also changed the Green-Flame Blade out for Mending.

I was going over it again, and I have a couple of questions.
Which class was her first? Did she start as a paladin and then multi-class to a sorcerer, or the other way around?
Also, doesn't her STR need to be at least 13 either way?
From the PHB, CH 6, page 163: "To qualify for a new class, you must meet the ability score prerequisites for both your current class and your new class."
The prerequisites for Sorcerer is CHA 13, while the ones for Paladin are STR 13 and CHA 13.

I started with paladin. But, I didn't see the requirement for 13 Str for paladin. Ok. Well, back to the drawing board I guess. Ughh, I suck at this lol.
