The 2nd campaign I ever played in back in 2006 was a Planescape 2E campaign that was converted to 3E that we then played in poorly converted 3.5E monstrosity. Is was great. It had all sorts of factions, prestige classes, and feats. My cluelessly naive cleric of Pelor ended up in Sigil and boy, was she WAAAAAY under prepared for the things going on. Anyway, I loved the setting and have been wanting to play it for years. I'm wondering if anyone has any Planescape material for 5E or if anyone on this board is intimately familiar with the setting.

We had a 2E Planscape game here, but it was short-lived and the DM hasn't been on for years.

I love the setting, and am "familiar" with it. I just don't know enough lore or have enough patience to do any kind of conversion.

I wouldn't say I'm intimate with the setting, but I know some about it. I've played in two games (as Gravity said, one was here at this site), but both were 2E. I've played Torment, but I don't think I ever finished it, and I have three novels, although it's been awhile since I've read them. I have a hard copy of the 'Planescape Monstrous Compendium' and 'The Planewalker's Handbook,' and a pdf of 'Sigil and Beyond.' I know there have been rumors for awhile now that WotC was going to release Planescape material (and Spelljammer, for that matter), but as far as I know, they haven't yet (but somehow managed to produce material for Magic the Gathering and Critical Role's setting). Looking around online, I did find a very comprehensive wiki for the setting, if that's of any help to you. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to get a hold of one of the old 2E modules, and just convert that into 5E. The two editions are similar enough that it probably wouldn't be too hard; at least, not as hard converting it to 3E or 4E would be.

Thanks Daos. I'll take a look. I'm not sure I'll ever be up for running it, but would sure love to be prepared for when/if a game ever pops up somewhere.

If you're able to, try and get a copy of The Planewalker's Handbook. Although it was written for 2E, it's chock full of lore, and explains the basics of Sigil, the planes, portals and keys, the cant, the factions and all of the other basics of the setting.
