CH. 08 - Once More With Feeling

"Clearing out the undead is next on my list," Kalana says. "So you have some time before we set sail again. I am sure you'll want some time with your parents."

Brax smiles at that statement "Good plan boss. Them rotters ain't natural ta be walkin bout like that."

"Yes, I appreciate that," Donato says.  "You know where to find me, when the time comes."

Kalana nods to Donato, and leads the group out of his home so that he can spend some time with his family. "We should probably rest up before running off to kill undead."

[Bishgada]

"Happy to help!" Senllip says bowing to Donato's parents and leaving. "So we need to gather some info about the undead. Let's get back to the bar and see what we can learn. Maybe also congrat 'The Sisters' for their part in eliminating the Slaadi."

The party returns to the makeshift inn/warehouse to gather info, grab something to eat, and divvy up the treasure.  They found the following:  123 silver pieces, 23 gemstones of various colors and cuts (need to be appraised), and Imrich's gear which consists of a backpack with a pair of scroll cases (both empty), a whet stone, a waterskin (partially filled), a bank note for 2040 GP, and two weeks of iron rations; a coin purse (5 CP, 4 SP and 45 GP). Two quivers, one containing a masterwork composite short bow and a score and a half of sheaf arrows, while the other holds a score of darts. Finally, a chest containing a grappling hook, hooded lantern, five lamps of oil, an hourglass, a set of nice looking clothes (reminiscent of what Imrich usually wears), ten pounds of tobacco and a tobacco pipe.

The party also notes that Jaeron is conscious again, and reclaimed his own belongings.  Most of his wounds have been healed, as well.  He approaches their table and nods in greeting.  "Thanks again for the rescue, and I'm glad everyone is in one piece.  But I think it's time for me to move on," he says.  "Recent events have made me start to question the path my life is on.  There's so much chaos and disorder on these islands, and I sometimes feel I'm adding to it instead of lessening it.  So I've decided to stay and help rebuild the temple of Gonto on this island, and work to convert the people to the proper path."

[Bishgada]

Senllip heartedly shakes Jaeron's hand. "Building the temple! Wow! That's huge. Don't take it the wrong way, but indeed you seemed messed up a little bit in the last couple of weeks. I'm glad you finally found what's right for you. And don't think you got rid of us. We will visit you a lot and count on your hospitality." He winks and raises a toast, "For peaceful minds and clear paths!" and then he adds in afterthought, "and full bellies!"

"Senllip is right," Kalana says to Jaeron. "That isn't an easy feat, but I wish you the best all the same. Since you are leaving though, I should pay you for the time you spent with me. Also, thank you." she adds.

"Well then, shall we set about divvying it up now?" Jaeron asks.

Brax eyes the gnome trying to get a read on the fellow finally thinking he has the gnome figured out he approaches the gnome before he leaves but when he is alone "Ahem, Jaeron, I'd like yah ta take this as a donation ta rebuildin that there temple. I ain't no follower of Gonto but it's tha least I can do lad." the dwarf at some point had gone back to the ship and grabbed a small bit of coin from his chest (100 gp) worth and put it in his belt pouch takes it out and hands it to the gnome.

Kalana nods and starts dividing up the treasure as evenly as possible. When it comes to Imrich's bank note. "I think...this should go to the ship. There isn't any way to access the money right now anyway. The rest of this stuff can probably be sold for some coin as well."

"So... where do we start with the undead issue? Wanna exchange info with the other mercenaries?"

"I think our spellcasters probably need some rest before we deal with the undead," Kalana says. "So, tomorrow morning. This job was given to us by one of the mercenary groups, so there really isn't any information to gather. They gave me all that they knew."

"OK then. Maybe I can look at the items Imrich left and evaluate their proper value. Then, when you sell them, you can avoid being cheated."
Senllip says as he browses through the items, check their quality and estimates their values.

(OOC: Appraise: (1d20 I assume?) vpOAk1lT1d20. As far as I understand the items are pretty mundane, even if master work for the arrows. I don't think a lot will happen if he contact people in the thieves guild with that prospect only.
But on the other hand, he can come with that as opening for a conversation to tell about the intention of going to destroy the undead. Then might learn more info about the undead situation that the guild can provide and on top of that they might have useful tools to fight the undead.
Is connecting "his old friends" from the guild feasible on this island? Is Athel on this island?

Anyway, if it is possible to do during the evening, Senllip will do it and will get info regarding undead fighting. Besides I believe Ochtanian priests can provide us with galons of holy water

Senllip has no idea what any of Imrich's stuff is worth.

Jaeron accepts the generous donation from Brax and nods his head in thanks.  "Gonto bless and watch over you.  I'll make sure to put it to good use."
