No, it was the other way around. George went with you, Marco stayed behind. Then when you met up with the mayor, you swapped George for Oswald.
EDIT: No, wait, you're right. Marco went with you, George stayed behind, and then Marco was swapped with Oswald. Never mind, I'll edit my post.

Also..how's the structure of the temple? Like..are there windows, and if the answer is yes are they blocked too? Is just the door that's caving in? There are windows throughout, but they are barricaded (either boarded up or blocked by furniture). The zombies are trying to break through the door and the windows, so basically they're trying to come in from all directions. |

Yeah, you're readied action will work fine.
I'll update tomorrow; first round in a combat post always takes a couple of hours (especially when I control all but one person), so I'll have time after work to do it then.
