I can't believe we won and everyone got out of here alive! At one point I was fully convinced we were all going to die..Then I thought about making at least Nicholas and Oswald run away, in game because Giunona wanted at least them to make it out alive so they could report the information about the Wight to the mayor, out of character I wanted to ask you if I could continue on playing as Nicholas after Giunona and Miles' death I could have probably managed it better, but I really liked this battle.

That might have worked, although Nicholas is only level 1, so it's a bit of a downgrade.
But anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was worried it was going to be too easy, since wights are so depowered in this edition.

Too easy?!? How were Wights before?

In 2E, wights:
* Cannot be harmed by non-magic or non-silver weapons at all * Each successful hit from one permanently drains one level of experience; if the victim is drained to level 0, they die and become a wight * Immune to sleep, charm, hold and cold-based spells

Oh yeah, you told me about the draining level thing, that's particularly nasty. D: tbh I don't really like the mechanic, seems a bit too punitive.

Yeah, 2E was quite punitive. Old school gaming in general were. Back then, D&D was less of a character-driven, story-based game and more akin to a rogue-like instead. Characters were largely disposable, and it was common practice to go to a game with several backups. Actually surviving to higher levels was a rare feat, and one worthy of praise. Also, there was no such thing as Challenge Rating, so even if the DM wasn't intentionally trying to kill you, there was a good chance they might do so accidentally anyway.

I see, I definitely prefer the 5e approach. I wanted to ask you, how are you gonna manage exp in this adventure? Are you planning on using the same method you used in Horizon's challenge?

Yeah, most likely.

Hmm I'm looking at the map, but correct me if I'm wrong. We're just at the end of the road that goes to the cemetery, correct?
I see there is a small building (farm?) in front of us. Does that seem like a safe space where we could take a short rest before making our way to the temple?

Possibly. You'd need to get closer to see inside, but from where you are now, it looks dark.

Okok, the important thing is that is not swarming with zombies or we don't hear scream of pain from it.
Also, can't sleep tonight? By the way the thing I used to help me was Valerian (I'm not sure it's the right name in english).

Also, can't sleep tonight? By the way the thing I used to help me was Valerian (I'm not sure it's the right name in english). Eh, sort of. I'm off tomorrow, and I have a ton to do, so I sort of stayed up later than I should have. And yeah, I looked it up, and it seems that drug is called Valerian in English, too. How much the little walk into the woods lasted? I assume I don't have PFE&G active anymore, it still had roughly 9 minutes. It looks like the trip is about 100 yards, or 300 feet. If we assume they moved at 25 feet per round, that's 12 rounds or 72 seconds, so just over a minute. Which seems...weird to me. In 2E, that would have taken at least 5 minutes (an unemcumbered dwarf can move 60 feet per round, and a round is a minute).
