Appearance:
Gordon has short, mud-colored, poorly-cut hair, as he does it himself without a mirror or any sort of barber-ship training. He has a similarly scruffy semi-beard, a permanent five-O'clock shadow that happens when a Dwarf tries to be clean-shaven. He makes up for his atrocious hair with striking, handsome features. He's well-built, and has a fondness for longcoats, which he wears whenever possible.
Personality:
Gordon is a rebellious, thoughtful person. He refuses to take action without understanding why, how, and deciding if it's a good idea. He has little trust for authority, which made him a rather bad soldier. He's also stubborn and quick to anger, though he calms down just as quick. He also loves puns. An inordinate amount.
History:
Gordon's family was traditionally soldiers--a career he was eager to avoid. Despite his love of battle--the athleticism, the competition, the strategy--he loathed the thought of mindlessly following order for the sake of the Thane's pointless power grabs. Everybody considered it a crying shame, given how fighting was his biggest talent. Schoolwork certainly wasn't; he'd always ditch class to fool around with his on/off sweetheart, Ruby. His parents nagged him into his adolescence to enlist and stop embarrassing them in front of the neighbors. He finally agreed when the Theiwar joined the battle against Takhisis. True, he and Ruby were terrible at following orders. But in a conflict like the War of the Lance, even scrupulous and insubordinate soldiers could agree on one thing: the enemy was evil, and they needed to lay down their lives to protect the world. Sadly, Ruby followed up on this pledge. When the dust settled, Gordon came back home to a flurry of empty sympathy, pressure to rise in the army ranks, and rumors that the Thane would try to grab power in the aftermath. Gordon wanted no part in any of it, and a scant year after coming home, he left--to Krynn, to find people to protect in the fallout of the great war.
