CH. 01 - Worst Job Ever

Sumina, like the children, skid to a hault only because the children did. She looks up to the tower, then down to the kender children, and lets out a sigh. She had a feeling that they were going into the tower.

Probably more of your friends. Sha'al shivers. More kender children would be far worse than monsters. And yeah, probably monsters.

The sea elf lools for any obvious entrance. Readying his shield and trident he makes sure the others are ready and he makes the final approach as stealthily as he can to see what the situation is

*Readies his weapons and mumbles about not worth it as he presses forward*

Sha'al sneaks forward, Granker (considerably noisier) right behind him.  As they approach, it begins to lightly rain while the sun sets.  Although fresh water, the moisture feels good against the Dimernesti's skin.

There is a single entrance to the ruined tower.  It was likely once filled with a reinforced door centuries ago, but now it hangs completely open.  Slipping inside, they find a large fairly open space of around 30 feet in diameter.  It's empty, save for some debris.  The ceiling seems intact, although the floors above no longer exist, so the tower is fairly hollow.  Instead of windows, there are a couple of arrow slits on the walls that one can peer (and shoot) out of, but would prevent anyone else from entering.

They would guess this used to be a watch tower of some kind, or perhaps part of a larger structure that has since crumbled to dust.

Any sign of tracks? Creatures or children?

Not that anyone in the party can see.  Place looks like it has been abandoned for centuries.

Arthogate "Huh I woulda figured this place would be interesting to kender, but apparently not."

Sumina follows after the other two, and then looks around. "Well," she says. "If anything, it is probably a good place to rest."

[Daos]

"Awww, this place looks boring," Makland complains.  "There's no monsters or treasure or nothing, it's just empty."

Good a place as any to make camp.

"Well, maybe there will be some thing interesting in your dreams," Sumina says to the children.

Arthogate "You never know what is hidden you know."

Camp is made, and rations are broken out.  As usual, Sumina and Sha'al take the first watch, Arthogate and Kaelestia the second, and Granker and Parra the third.  But the tower provides good shelter from the rain, and nothing else bothers them throughout the night.  The main problem are the children, whose boundless energy seems to prevent them from getting much sleep.  They stay awake for most of the night, running around, trying to go outside to explore, or asking endless questions.

It's some time after Darkwatch that the kender finally wear themselves out enough to sleep.  When morning arrives, though, they are the first to awaken, seemingly completely refreshed and full of energy again.  "Where are we going today?" they asks.  "Will there be monsters?  And treasure?  And adventure?"

It is now Loot 18th, Fourth Watch.  Everyone regains 1 HP.  Casters may choose new spells for the day.

"Maybe I'll sacrafice you to Nuitari' she try again tk threaten the kenders.

"Don't waste your breath, Parra," Sumina says with a shake of her head. "And it looks like we are going to have to comb through all the ruins on this area to find the rest of your friends."
