Despite the interruption earlier in the night, Iroas, Migor, and Rada get a good night's sleep and awake refreshed. They head down to the lobby of the inn to find Savra already having breakfast at one of the inn's big tables.
"Come on, sit down!" she invites. Almost as soon as they do, the innkeeper sets down three mugs of coffee in front of them. "It's on the house," she explains. "So is breakfast, actually. It's the least I can do after you saved us all."
"Everyone's been talking about your heroics," Savra teases. "Did you really fight off ten pirates and a mage without breaking a sweat?"
[HP and spell slots restored. Iroas can prepare new spells.]

"I think it was more like a priest and about six pirates," Iroas admits. "And there was actually quite a bit of sweat involved. I'm sorry we didn't have time to wake you." He thanks the innkeeper for her generosity. "Thank you, we deeply appreciate it."
As they dig in, Iroas goes into further detail. "We also took two of them alive. They are still at the local jail." Iroas fills her in on what they learned, about this so-called prince and their desire to flood the world. He also tells her about the magic orb and how it was apparently meant to destroy this town. "I think we may need to return to Rivergard and wipe out the remaining pirates there, lest they strike at this town again, or another one. But we may need help. I wonder, do you think your friends at Feathergale Spire may be of assistance? That tower is where I first heard the term 'elemental evil.' I wonder, if nothing else, whether they may have some useful information about these cultists, since they seem to have at least heard of them before."
He adds, "Another possibility is...well, last night something came to me in a dream. I think I might be able to reach out to Ilmater himself, or perhaps one of his servants, and learn something from him...with an appropriate offering. This may also provide us some answers."

"What would be considered the appropriate offering?" Rada asks Iroas as she digs into her breakfast.

"I would need some incense; a special kind, not the kind I usually use for praying," Iroas explains. Indeed, as Rada would come to learn since joining, Iroas prays every morning to the Crying God, using some sticks of incense he keeps in his pack. "Maybe twenty five gold's worth."

Savra takes in what Daos says and nods cautiously. "Yes, I...suppose we could go to the Spire for help. Like you said, they might know something." But she sounds unsure and nervous.
However, just then, an elderly woman in an expensive coat enters the inn, along with an attendant and three armed guards. The attendant, carrying a large wooden box, introduces her as "Erina Hummingway, Mayor of Red Larch."
"You three. You're the ones who defended our town from those mad cultists, aren't you?" she asks Daos, Rada, and Migor.

Iroas is just about to ask Savra what is wrong, when the mayor arrives. The cleric stands out of a show of respect. "We are, your honor. We were happy to help."

Mayor Hummingway nods. "I thank you dearly for that--and if you are willing, I have a task for you," she says. "These cultists can no longer be allowed to threaten our town. You know the location of their base--all that is left is to wipe them out. Red Larch can provide our three finest warriors..." She pauses and gestures to the three guards beside her. "And however many other soldiers you need. For payment, Red Larch can offer 50 gold to each of you. And as an advance payment of sorts, I'd be happy to give you this." The attendant opens the box, revealing a javelin with lightning bolt-shaped tips. Inscribed on the shaft is an Dwarvish rune that Iroas recognizes as being the character for lightning.

"This is very generous, thank you," Iroas says. "We will do what we can to end the threat of these cultists for good."

Rada carefully takes the box with the javelin and looks it over. "We just got back from there, but I guess we are going back," she says in amusement.

"That's a Javelin of Lightning," the Mayor explains. "Say the command word inscribed on the shaft, and it will transform into a spear of pure lightning for you to hurl at your enemies. Even when it's not transformed, it has enough magic in it to pierce through resistance to non-magical attacks."

"Sounds handy against water cultists," Iroas notes. "We thank you again for the generosity."

Rada bows her head slightly to the Mayor before she takes a closer look at the javelin. "You know, since we were just there, they are probably going to be on guard when we arrive again," she points out to Iroas.

"Yes, but between the ones we killed last time, plus the ones we killed or captured last night, I have to imagine they are running pretty low on manpower," Iroas says. "Aside from the werebear and that one magical woman, I can't imagine they have very many people left."

"Then do we just charge in there?" Rada asks.
