“Well, I’m certainly of the opinion that we should reclaim Rain Mountain,” April says. “If we show our devotion to Elonna, she’ll give us strength to protect ourselves from these heathens.”
[OOC: Probably give the potion to Poppy? Especially if she becomes a Thief next level and gets Fast Hands.]

"If I may make a suggestion" Terani says with a slight raise of his hand. "It seems to me an assassination would require little in the way of manpower. Capturing the Prince Hluuwee is most likely asked to proceed best with a small team scurrying around their lands. If it was framed in such a way as he is 'taken' to Rain Mountain, we have our reasoning to go in. 'Assisting' the ravenites recovery their Prince, and taking on a holy war. While Hluuwee is with us, we can rescue him in a staged rescue, giving him extra reason to understand marriage with your uncle and the power of Elonna." Holding up a finger to show her wasn't done he continues after a pause for breath. "Now the assassination would gain us a quick win for extra area we could use manpower and money from. With their Prince seemingly in Rain Mountain, the ravenites would be distracted from us. Facing war with two enemies would have Rain Mountain defeated all the easier. If the marriages idea works then we've gained extra land twice and gained an ally. If it fails, we'll still have increased land and Ravenites will also need depleted from their fight." Terani then collapsed back down into his seat as all realisation of what he suggested hits him and his courage before all dwindles.

"Getting that far inland would be rough for the Ravenites," Kalinda points out. "So Rain Mountain isn't going to feel any real threat from them. Though, since Ravenites do tend to raid coastal towns, we could have them do the work of assassination of the Tall Pines Queen," she says.

"It's a complicated matter," Crane agrees, tenting his hands. "It may well be possible to combine some of the objectives, but we should be wary not to spread ourselves too thin. Our shards and manpower are finite, after all." After a bit of thought, he says, "Perhaps to avoid another deadlock, we should have a ranked vote. The four of you shall rank the five objectives in order from most preferable to least. This might give us a clearer path to follow."
===============
(OOC: Go ahead and rank the five objectives, with #1 being the one you want to do the most and #5 being the one you want to do the least. If you forgot, the five objectives are:
Declare War on Rain Mountain - Olivia wants to invade Rain Mountain and overthrow the discharged queen. This will not result in any new land or money, but it will earn favor from the church, which could be useful in getting the Keepers of the Green on Salt Whale's side and proving Salt Whale is a holy nation.
Declare War on Noisy Waters - Crane has a good claim on the lands of Noisy Waters, and they are weak right now. Taking those lands would give Salt Whale more territory and shards, and also give them a foothold into Ravenite lands, as Noisy Waters is the last Kanatan territory in the north that the Ravenites haven't taken yet. However, Elonnori tend to frown on violence against their own people.
Assassinate Queen of Tall Pines - Pike wants to assassinate the queen of Tall Pines, as Crane is her sole heir, which means upon her death, all of her lands and titles will pass on to Crane. This will expand the nation's borders and resources and not even require a war, but it will have dire consequences if the plot is discovered or failed. Nobody likes a kinslayer, after all.
Build the Coffers - Marine feels that rather than spending more shards on wars or plots, Salt Whale should instead focus on the economy, building up the coffers again and establishing new trade routes and finding new sources of revenue. However, choosing not to act now may have consequences later, as enemy nations may not patiently wait for Salt Whale to shore up their resources first.
Kidnap the Ravenite Prince - Saltyx thinks if they can infiltrate Ravenite lands and abscond with the prince (willingly or otherwise), it might be possible to broker a marriage between him and Crane. If successful, this could unite the two lands and massively bolster Salt Whale's power. But it's incredibly risky, and about a million things could go wrong.
You can also continue discussing the objectives, adding to or modifying them with your own ideas, etc.)

It is a tricky one, risk with each and reward too. Which carries the most to gain against the risk it faces... hmm. Terani scratches his chin as he decides. Maybe a combined one would be best. Tricky as it may be, if it works out, other factors may become easier... {Vote } 5, noisy waters 4, build coffers 3, tall pines 2, kidnap 1, Rain Mountain 0, Combined kidnap into blame rain waters?

Poppy remains silent for a few minutes while the others talk, as she is busy counting the reward for their successful missions. When she's satisfied that she got what was promised, she says: "I love the little guy's plan." - as she points to Terani. - "It's incredibly risky and cunning, but if we succeed we end up with a whole lotta of land for us and a gay wedding. I can't imagine a more perfect ending!"
OOC
1. Terani's plan 2. Assasination 3. Kidnapping 4. Coffers 5. War on Noisy Waters 6. War on Rain Mountain

"I fear I don't fully understand the acolyte's proposed plan," Crane admits. "Perhaps someone can elaborate on it."

"From what I got... Basically we kidnap the prince, but we pretend we are from Rain Mountain and we bring him there once we get him. For Elonna, maybe we could even get those two council members to help us bring him directly to the palace. Once he's there and the Ravenites know about it, you arrive and save him. We could put you on a white horse and give you a makeover - a toupée may be in order here - that would definitely make a good impression on him. This plan would give us both a reason to go against Emerald, and gain us points to build an alliance with the Ravenites."

"...that sounds terrible," April says. "There's SO much that could go wrong, and even if there are no obstacles, how can we be sure it will get us what we want? For one thing, I thought the point of attacking Rain Mountain is to do it in the name of Elonna, to prove to the church that Supervisor Crane has Her will in mind."

Crane does his best to try and follow along, although it's clear he's still rather confused. "So...you would infiltrate Ravenite territory and kidnap the prince, as per my niece's plan. But then you will transport him to Rain Mountain, and then stage a rescue of him? And this somehow involves Queen Emerald of Tall Pines?" He shakes his head, trying to organize his thoughts. "I suppose the question boils down to, do you believe you four can pull such a feat off?"

"His plan was to kidnap the prince, blame it on Rain Mountain, and spread the word to the Ravenites that Rain Mountain was involved in the kidnapping," Kalinda says. "Then the Ravenites would attack Rain Mountain. My problem with the plan is that Rain Mountain is too fair inward for the Ravenites to get to since they typically raid coastal towns," she says. "That is why I said that if we are going to blame anyone, it would make more sense to blame the Queen of Tall Pines because of the coastal land, and it is possible that the Ravenites could do the dirty work for us, and kill the Queen of Tall Pines," she says. "But, that is a convoluted plan at best. The Ravenites probably aren't going to just attack the region that took their prince because how are they going to know which region is which? They are just going to attack the Elonnori because we are all Elonnori."

"The Ravenites don't necessarily need to help in the way with who were pin the kidnapping on. In fact, us then helping them puts us in even better favour does it not? If a slow journey with him is done, we could even intercept on the way." Terani waves a hand around as he speaks. "The point is, it gives us an extra reason to justify a war. And having it be an enemy away from them would be a good tactic on their behalf. Think of it this way. If you know that there hostilities, even if minor, with a country between you and one further away... if they do something to enrage the further one, they have a shield in the form of another country! After either succeeds, they are likely to be heavily weakened and then open for them to step in. And I'm sure they would love to take our land of given half a chance, would they not?!"

"Well, you've certainly given us a lot to think about," Crane says. "The council will discuss the plan, and we'll summon you when it's ready. In the meantime, you've earned some time off. Try to enjoy it while you can."
