CH. 02 - Salted Legacy

Zencho look nervouse.
"Who else know that we are practicating?" he ask

[HorizonsDream]

"Well, let's get going guys," Ha-Yun says. She seemed to be itching to go visit another world.

[Bishgada]

Chispa nods in agreement. Maybe the games will require her improved talent with working metals.

Seeboe nods as well eager to get started. With a big grin he simply awaits their departure.

[Daos]

With that, the party gathers their gear and departs for the Passage of Respite.  Once there, they find the Ruby Concord Jewel has landed and is taking on passengers and cargo.  A gnomish woman stands out front, waving folks in.  "All aboard for Siabsungkoh!" she calls.

The Concord Jewel is massive, as large as a boat.  Normally they orbit the Citadel from a distance, but when they land, one can see just how large they really are.  Sections of the bottom part of the jewel are strangely translucent, and seem to allow matter to pass, thus allowing people to just walk through the wall, onto the Jewel itself.

Zencho doesnt leave anything behind and follow along, looking nervouse instead of his usual juvial attitude.

Chispa curiously touches the material several times while passing through. How one can pass through it, but while the vessel travels people don't fall is a wonder she will be glad to learn about. Maybe the gnome she met in the restaurant the day before could help somewhat with that, although he wasn't very helpful with anything regarding the concords.

[Daos]

The party boards the jewel and looks for seats.  A number of folk have already boarded, most of them Siabsungkohan, but not all.  They do see a few familiar faces in the crowd, however.  Suree Sangsorn and Treg sit together, and Chispa and Zencho recognize Arthit Suwan among the passengers, as well.

Once everyone is boarded, the transparent wall re-solidifies and the Claviger, the gnomish woman, announces, "Alright folks, we'll be taking off shortly.  Please find a seat."  She then climbs up a ladder to a higher platform, disappearing through a small hole in the ceiling.

[Bishgada]

Chispa nods to the acquaintances. The then asks Suree, "Hello Suree. Nice to see you. May I ask where is Mila? No offense but I'd expect improving mentoring would require her here with you." but even before Suree answers, her next thoughts are asking the tiefeling if they traveled the jewel before and can explain the duality of the vessel material.

[Daos]

Suree smiles and says, "Oh, so good to see you again.  Oh, I closed up shop for today and gave everyone the day off.  The Night Market Games are going on back home, so Treg and I are heading there.  Mila isn't Siabsungkohian, so declined to come with us.  I guess she has her own plans."  As they speak, there's a lurch as the Concord Jewel begins to lift up into the air.

[Bishgada]

"We are heading for the games as well. Do you know by any chance what flavor are they going to have this year?" Chispa asks.

Ha-Yun checks her stuff one more time before she actually boards the ship. Once she notices Suree, she smiles. "Hi again," she says. "So the games are different each year" she asks.

[Daos]

"No idea," Suree admits.  "But I'm looking forward to seeing what they came up with this year.  Oh, the Shieldbearers are participating this year again, too?  That's great.  I'll be rooting for you.  Although I'm hoping to make some good connections myself while there.  It's a good way to network and pick up some new commissions.  Plus, always nice to see old family and friends again for awhile."

The walls of the Concord Jewel are opaque and solid now, but there are some windows.  Looking out, Chispa can see the Citadel below them, slowly shrinking as they lift higher and higher into the sky.  She can also see the distant Keening Gloom, ominously churning to the west.  Eventually, the Jewel comes to a halt and just sort of floats for a bit.  "Everyone hold on, we're about to shift!" calls the gnomish woman's voice down into the hold.

Seeboe moans under his breath " Ugh, the shift always makes me nervous." As he shifts back in his seat, thinking of all the new people and sights he's finally gonna get to see.

[Bishgada]

"Suree, do you know if the Jewel material is used for other purposes? It seem of great potential for almost anything. Imagine having a weapon that could pass through armor and shield and then solidify while at the enemy... Or wood beams that could be passed through each other to construct a building and then solidify." Chispa asks.
As Chispa wonders about the material and its usages she concentrate on her god and thanks for the wonders of the world and those she can take part with. She feels a new excitement. Something in her understanding how metal works has changed and she feels she knows how to weave the divine forces given her by her god to create new objects.
She takes her helmet out of her bag and whispers a prayer to Quetzalcoatl while moving her hand close to the metal slowly and starts to shape it a bit differently and uniquely giving the external part the looks of hairs. After few minutes of working it she is both satisfied and amazed with her new ability but looking around at the group she becomes uncomfortable again, returns the helmet to her bag and focuses on dust particles on her seat.
