The party awakens the following day and eagerly wash up, dress and grab their gear to head to the meeting room to get their new assignment that Arayat promised. Vulpi, Zencho, Ha-Yun and Chispa meet up again there, but notice Livana is notably missing. Further, there are two others in the room with Arayat. One is a gnomish man with bright aqua blue eyes and a soft tan colored skin and a medium ginger brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. He is dressed in a soft leather tunic and pants in a natural earth tone with a thick leather belt, as well as brown leather boots that come up to just under his knees. A braided leather bracelet is wrapped around one of his wrists. (Seeboe has just finished his training as a Shieldbearer and was by Arayat told to report in for his first assignment. As of yet, he is unsure where he is going or where. He does recognize Vulpi among the newcomers, however.) The other is a kobold woman dressed in fine clothes, but seems to be confined to a wheelchair. The group recognizes her as one of the Speakers of the Ancestors from Suree Sangsorn's trial. "Ah, the rest of the new recruits have arrived," Arayat announces, noticing the group approaching. "I have an important job for you all. Ever been to Siabsungkoh?" he asks, placing his hands behind his back.

"Seeboe? [exclaiming] What are you doing here?! I haven't seen you in months! Y'all this is Seeboe, I've been friends with his family for hundreds of years. Way back when Atagua first fought against the subjugation by the Xaujans, I was on a reconnaissance mission with his [pauses, counts] 11 generations back father Yenaris when the war story to top all war stories happened. We were hiding in a marsh watching the enemy encampment, it had been raining heavily so the waters were high. One of the Xaujan guards went to go relieve herself just 10 paces away and spotted us. As she sounded the alarm, we began to book it into the forest as fast as we could. We had a head start on moving, but they were coming on horseback. Our best chance was to hide, so we climbed a couple trees to get out of sight. The pursuing guard lost track of us, and the commander had 10 of his men dismount and try to find our tracks, but he stayed on his own horse. Then CRACK I look up to see Yenaris's branch had broken off the tree and as he fell, I swear he was trying to climb the limb back up even though it had already detatched from the tree. By the skin of Payaro's teeth, he somehow managed to not only land on the captain's horse but spear him with the branch as well. The horse spooked and took off with Yenaris riding backwards, the impaled captain, and the large branch Yenaris rode down on. The guards struggled to remount their horses in time to pursue. I don't know how they never caught up to him; surely, between the muddy hoofprints that must have been left behind and Yenaris's screeching, he would have been easy to find. But Melecio says there were no guards pursuing the swift mud covered 15ft tall monstrosity charging our camp. The captain of the guard didn't know what this monstrosity sent to us by Xaujans was but commanded the archers to prepare to fire. Now Yenaris's wife Lauka was bring bread to the soldiers at the time and recognized her husband's screams. I don't know how his lungs held it up for 6 miles. Melecio swears this is what happened next: Lauka yelled, 'Put your bows down, if anyone is going to be shooting my husband today it is me after the mess he had left in Thayona's nappy this morning' as she snatches Melecio's bow and an arrow and just shoots. No prior training. And Yenaris must have still been riding backwards because she hit him right in his fleshy ass! Had the scar to prove it till his dying day just over a hundred years ago, I checked. Lauka was then 'strongly encouraged' to join the Watch while Yenaris healed. I understand Thayona's diapers from then on were spotless."

Trying to hold in his excitement, but failing miserably (shrieking) "VULPI" ( in a normal tone) "Good Ole Vulpi. And Momma was worried I wouldn't make any friends. And there you are. Vulpi."

"Ah...then you know each other," Arayat surmised. "That makes things easier. Recruit Livana has been sent on a special mission to Zinda, so I've decided to send our newest recruit with you in her place."

Zencho is a bit groggy, after sneaking away to drink at least a bit late at night. (How.. costly would it be?) He try to keep the crankiness away, pretending to be his usual... "religously jolly" self.
"Seeboe, Eh? Morning." trying to follow Vulpi"s tale. "Aha. I get it all. Yes. I am Zencho, if you need me " he present himself follow them wearily, rubbing his eyes.

"Nice to meet you, Seobee," Ha-Yun says when she can get w word in. Though, she turns her attention to their leader. "I've never been there. What's going on there?" She asks.

Arayat says, "I'll turn that over to Speaker Aom Myahkoom," he says, gesturing to the kobold. "So you are the new recruits Arayat speaks of? Hmm, wait, some of you seem familiar. Weren't most of you at the trial yesterday? Hmm," she begins. "Well, no matter. You are in for a treat. On Siabsungkoh, we have a massive market open every night called the Dyn Singh Night Market. Every year, we have an event known as the Market Games. Representatives from all over are sent to compete, and it's tradition for the Shieldbearers to participate, as well. Arayat tells me you are an accomplished group of recruits, so I am certain you will represent your organization well." Arayat chuckles. "Indeed." He looks to the party. "It's a good diplomatic assignment. The Siabsungkohians are...somewhat wary around outsiders. But they have great respect for any who can win their Market Games. It helps keeps us on good relations with them. So give it your absolute best. Oh, and keep your eyes and ears open for any troubles the folk there may be having, as well, and see if you can help. Any additional goodwill we can earn will benefit both them and us in the long run. The Ruby Concord Jewel will depart within an hour, so I suggest you head to the Passage of Respite right away. Any final questions?" ============== (OOC: I'll remove 2 silver from Zencho's inventory; we can say he had an entire gallon of ale to himself last night.)

(I have updated my sheet)
Zencho for once look horrified and pale. "How severe... would be the shame if we fail?" He ask. If something would shaken this monk- it would be expectations. His family wont be happy with more shame.

"What kind of games are we talking about?" Ha-Yun asks curiously.

Chispa tries to follow Vulpi's story, but quickly lose it and just nods absentmindedly from time to time. She does the same to the new comer. Soebees was it, she thinks to herself. Then she was to know what are the games about to get a head start, but hearing HuYan asks the same she keeps listening and just nods.

Speaker Myahkoom answers, "It all depends on the vendor who sets them up. Usually they are designed to help promote the wares being sold, although that isn't a requirement. For instance, I remember one game a few years back, where a rice merchant set it up so that you had to transfer rice from one bowl to another using only chopsticks, and whoever did this fastest without spilling won. Last year I recall a game where a dress merchant set up a beauty contest of sorts, where the contestants sported the merchant's dresses. So it all varies, but that's part of the fun. Even those who come back each year to participate face completely new challenges each time." She adds, "Look for the golden tents. Those are the ones hosting games this year."

Being his first assignment Seeboe turns his attention away from his reunion with Vulpi, to the reason they have all gathered, celebration must wait. With nervous excitement he shifts his weight from one foot to the other and a grin on his face, he turns to listen to the conversation around him.

"Not off hand," Speaker Myahkoom replies. "I haven't attended the games in a few years, and haven't had a chance to go home in awhile, either. But just look for the golden tents, and you'll find them easily enough."
