Now that all members of the group have decided to proceed with the inspection of the corpse first, Sylas concludes by saying: "Well, it seems like we have a plan of action on our hands. If anybody needs to take extra equipment for the day, now is the time."
After that, he heads for the inn exit, ready to face his daily dose of torment, praying for a day when the sun won't be so agonizingly blinding. "See you later, boss.", he says as he closes the door to the short hallway behind him. He decided to wait the others outside the inn to acclimatize himself to the daylight in the meanwhile.

The party steps outside into the harsh sun. Although technically it is autumn now, it's still quite hot out. And it feels like it has been growing hotter and staying that way longer every year. Summer nearly takes up half the year these days.
Currently, the party is in the Labor Sector, the eastern part of the city. The temple they are seeking is in the Academic Sector, to the north. It should take about an hour to walk there.
It's morning, but late morning, so the streets are mostly empty as everyone is at work. The Labor Sector is home to many of the common laborers in the city--teamsters, craftsmen, porters, and general laborers; the working class, essentially. It's a poor part of the city, although not nearly as poor as the Slums. The buildings are a bit run down, but still overall in good repair, if not a bit slapdash in their repairs.

"Ugh, the weather is atrocious today. Winter can't come fast enough." - Zemora says, irritated by the light. - "Let's move fast. I can't wait to have a roof over my head once again."
OOC
If possible, I'll stay in the middle of the group.

Sylas is definitely less talkative in the sunlight. He keeps with the group, eyes wide open on his surroundings, to the best of his ability considering the light.

OOC: As an archer I would prefer to take the back and cover for any ambushes in that direction.

“Just a second!” Nerisse calls, casting her prepared spell of Armor before leaving the building. She wants to get the magical defenses up as soon as possible, in case of any ambushes. She doesn’t take to the sun as well as the other two Drow, yelping and covering her eyes as she steps into the street. Her eyes “adjust” after a while, and she tries to lead the group through the city as best she can with her eyes squinting furiously.
[OOC: Nerisse will go first in marching order, unless somebody else goes in front of her.]

Ellasamdra will walk beside Nerisse, as she doesn't want to step on her toes by walking in front of her. Thankfully, the roads were pretty empty, so she didn't have to worry about keeping distance between people.

Nerisse and Ellasandra take the lead, with Tukgruff and Zemora following and Sylas taking up the rear. After about ten minutes of travel, they spot a group of four folk in the road. A male human, a female half-orc, a male goblin, and a female duergar are walking toward their general direction, conversing among each other in the Daemon tongue. The human, upon noticing the group, pauses and says to them, "Hey, you all feeling lucky today?" Enc Checks 10:10 07zL_XO01d10 10:20 1d10 10:30 1d10 10:40 1d10 10:50 1d10 11:00 1d10

Sylas smells trouble in the air. He did not like the human's tone at all. Without uttering a word, his first instinctual response is to reach for his bow and grip it. With a well-trained movement, he nocks an arrow. It could come in handy at any moment.
After that, he remains still, observing the situation and trying to judge whether his reading was right or not.

OOC: I'm scanning for their equipment, Daos. I am also looking for signs that might let me know if they belong to some known group, criminal or otherwise. I can try to do an Observation check if necessary.
Also, were we able to understand what they were talking about in Daemon before the human said what he said? I don't know if we were paying attention, still, it doesn't hurt to ask and could help understand what their up to.
Edit: Okay, re-reading and checking it with matt, I think I misinterpreted Daos message. Misreadings happen when you're barely awake lol (I had assumed the sentence spoke by the human to be directed at their group and not ours, but it doens't make sense). However I stick to what I declared. I'm okay with Sylas being jumpy, I find that to be in character.

Looking over the group, Sylas does not see any visible weapons or armor on any of them, although it's possible they have them concealed somehow.
(OOC: You can make an Observation check if you want to try and discern more info. You can also roll a 1d100 to see if you overheard anything they were talking about earlier.)

Unfortunately, Sylas is unable to determine anything about this group. Are they part of some organization or gang? What are their intentions? These questions remain shrouded in mystery, for now. As for their conversation earlier, all he gleamed from it was the word 'jackpot' but the rest was lost to him.

"And, ahem, what sort of 'luck' are you talking about?" Nerisse asks coyly. She keeps her guard up, ready to cast her innate Drow magic at any sign of trouble.

Zemora puts an hand on Sylas' shoulder, and give him a look as to say 'Calm down.', she was used to the man's jumpiness and shared the same distrust for the newcomers but she didn't want him to shoot someone in the middle of the street. Not yet, anyway. Otherwise, the priestess remains silent and waits for the group to answer the questions from her companions.

Sylas nods slightly at Zemora's touch, indicating that it will not strike unless there are clear hostile actions from the other group.
