The party sets off, with Poppy taking the lead, Terani taking up the rear, and the rest of the group in the center. After about an hour of traveling through the hilly terrain, they come across a lone landmark, sitting out in the middle of nowhere. It is a totem pole of some kind, carved from wood. The images it bears are an orca at the bottom, then a frog above it, then a bear above that, and finally a raven at the top. It appears quite old, as the colors have faded over time. |

Poppy strained so hard and long to learn Raven Call, she sadly failed to absorb any of the other stuff Gustus talked about--if it wasn't on the test, it just slipped out of her mind, sadly. Fortunately, Kalinda did gleam a few things in her own studies of the Ravenite people. She knows that this totem represents the four major deities of their faith, with the Great Raven at the top. Likely it was set here as a marker for entering their territory; to warn people this land now belongs to the Ravenites.
Poppy doesn't find any compartments, traps or any disturbed earth around it.

Mizzle shakes her head. "No. I've never even heard of them before coming to the mainland. But it's fairly similar to our own beliefs. All things have a spirit. The mountains, the lakes, the forests, the animals, the plants...even the planet itself, Elonna. Maybe the Ravenites are not as different from us as we thought then. They just prioritize different spirits than we do."
Blitz's feathers ruffle a bit. "The Elonnori don't make a habit of raiding neighbors or keeping slaves," he points out. "They're not like us at all."
