"Can we speak with Culley?" Ha Yun asks. "And why is it dangerous down here?" She asks. She knew it was dangerous because of the limbs of dead bodies, but she was hoping to get more information.

"Oh, Culley drowned a long time ago," Kianna says sadly. Then immediately perking up, she says, "Except I saved him. He didn't drown. He did go away for awhile, but now he's back. Oh, it was so good to hear his voice again after all of this time." She adds, "He's sleeping right now." Her demeanor changes abruptly again, looking fearful. "He always sleeps after eating. I think singing helps keep him quiet. But I'm so tired...so tired..." She rubs at her eyes fitfully.

Chispa looks suspiciously at the pile of hands, "And what does he eat? Hands? Bodies? Why are you in the cavern anyway? We can't spot Culley here. And you know that some of the farms were marked with red X? It doesn't seem safe. Since you feel obliged to calm Culley, maybe we can wait with you until he wakes, and we can see together how to bring peace back here."

Kianna doesn't seem to recognize the language Zencho is speaking, so doesn't reply to him.
To Chispa, she says, "I first heard his voice in the cellar," she explains. "I thought I was going mad, but I dug and dug until I found this cavern, and this is where Culley was waiting for me. I was so happy to see him again. But he was lonely, so I would invite other farmers down here. When they'd meet Culley, they'd do anything he'd ask." She grows dark. "Even hurt each other." Perking up again, she continues, "He also asked them to mark the houses with 'X's' to note who had visited the cellar so far."
Cheerfully, she says, "Of course, you're welcome to stay. Culley always likes making new friends." Then growing sullen again, she adds, "You shouldn't be here. He'll be hungry again when he wakes up."

Whispering to zencho: "bad plan, remember when we met Culley [motions to pile of hands] on the road? There we had sky above us and it wasn't Culley's home turf and there wasn't a potential necromancer. Also, if things get nasty we cannot be certain of Kianna's safety which is the entire point of the mission."
It seems to sarcastiksh0rtee37 that Kianna has two sets of consciousness: one aware of Culley's death who is concerned about the danger of the situation and one who is glad to have Culley back. Are our characters able to tell who is in charge at any moment? Like maybe from posture changes, eye changes, etc

Examining Kianna, it becomes obvious to Chispa that the young woman's affliction is not magical, but medical. She is extremely sleep deprived, to the point of it causing serious harm to her psyche. Her erratic moods and behavior, the glazed look in her eyes, her difficulty in staying attached to reality; it all points to a lack of sleep over several days, if not longer.
From what Vulpi can tell, the cheerful and perky Kianna seems happy to have Culley back, and the sullen and frightened version is the opposite. This is reflected in her facial expression, body posture and tone of voice. But either only seems to manifest when she is speaking, rapidly switching back and forth. When she is not speaking, her eyes kind of glaze over and she just sort of stares into space blankly.
