Blitz accompanies Kalinda up to the common room, while Mizzle opts to remain with Poppy. Meanwhile, Terani and April find the innkeeper also in the common room, taking orders for breakfast. Kalinda spends some time in the common room, eavesdropping, trying to hear any languages she actually recognizes with her keen elven ears. As luck would have it, she does overhear two people having a quiet conversation in Auran in the back. Two elves, one high and one wild, are having a hushed back and forth.
"...I'll bring it up at the meet but we need to be careful..."
"...focused elsewhere, there won't be a better time..."
"...are more on guard than normal, watching closely..."

"Good day! I guess things will be quiet for a while now the festival is out of the way?" Terani says to the innkeeper as he tries to sort small tasks as they talk, passing April items to clean or otherwise make herself busy with.

As far as Kalinda can tell, the locals seem at ease.
"Seems that way," the innkeeper says to Terani. "Most of the out-of-towners have moved on. I reckon your group will be doing the same?"

Kalinda walks up to April (assuming she is in the common room) and speaks softly. "So those elves over there are kind of suspious. Something about a meet, and that they need to be careful because people are on guard. No one is on guard here though."

"Most likely, though if you're ok with our staying for a bit, helping and the likes as we have been, a few days yet would be good? A few different options of which direction to take and the wind isn't pushing us at any of them yet. The feet are willing but need that resolution of which way." Terani says trying to sound wistful.

April is at a loss for what to do with the items Terani wordlessly hands to her, and soon finds herself carrying a small pile of junk, flustered. When Kalinda reports what she heard, April nods. "What sort of meeting is it, that they need to hide it from other people?" she whispers. "Could they be allies?"

Roots are hard to put down if you go about doing that sort of thing." Terani replies before taking a pace over to take back a mug from April, gives it a brief glance, then at April, Kalinda, back to the mug before moving back towards the barkeep and running a cloth over the mug. " Tss." After wiping it over, he holds it up a little to inspect it before placing it back where it came from. |

Before partying ways with the others, Poppy says to them: "Be careful, I'll go check the festival to see what's going on there. We'll see you here later." - before exiting the tavern leading Mizzle along, headed where the festival is located.

The innkeeper nods to Terani. "Just keep your nose clean, especially around the guard. They're jumpy lately, especially around new faces."
Meanwhile, Poppy and Mizzle step out into the town, although by now the festival is already over. Some folks are taking down decorations and cleaning up, but for the most part the streets have emptied out considerably and things are returning to normal again.
