"There is also the option of trying to get him on our side," Kalinda says. "He isn't going to believe that all of this was some sort of weird dream. We are no where near that convincing, and I can already see the bruises forming where I hit him to knock him out," she says.

"Ok. Point taken. Do you have ideas for how? We could... Tell him we've been sent not as spies but emissaries to offer assistance in the war? Looking to secure peaceful negotiation and improve relations with the Prince. We carry arms because the land is unsafe and as an act of good faith, we went and dealt with that cursed grove, leaving it cleansed but also free of Elonna's control?" Terani offers.

Blitz asks, "How do we explain why all of our gear is made of coral, though?  Only Cascadians uses coral gear."

"Well, the long and winding roads aren't always free from danger. A safeguard against such dangers. Prudent of any traveller." Terani explains. "I think this is the most peaceful option and also avoids most deception, if you think about it. We are looking at securing peace and are armed for our protection."

[Daos]

"So, what are we to do then?  Just wait for him to wake up?" asks Mizzle.

[HorizonsDream]

"I can try to wake him, providing we are going to try to convince him to be on our side," Kalinda says.

[MaltholLoth]

"Yes. And I agree. I think this is our best hope, despite how risky it is. Might it be better if some of you wait at the top of the stairs ready to come down. Might be a bit intimidating to wake to all of us about." Terani says, looking at those that have joined since the event.

[Daos]

Blitz and Mizzle nod and head upstairs.

Terani makes a quick prayer and gives a nod to Kalinda. "May Elonna guide our words and his understanding in the importance of our success. Time to awaken..."

The guard slowly begins to come to, groaning and rubbing at the back of his head, still a bit dazed.  "What in the Raven's name?" he mutters in Kanatan.

Kalinda decides to stay back, just in case things go wrong at this point. Though she stays behind the guard for the time being.

Terani helps the guard to sit up and replies in kanatan.

"Sorry, it seems one of my women mistook you for a threat to the chance of greater prowess for our mutual nations. I will deal with her later. We are an envoy that need to deliver a message to your Prince. The arms and armour you found were only for our protection on our journey. Secrecy was required, as I'm sure you can imagine. The greatness and chance of an even more supreme military alliance could hang in the balance. We know to come armed against your might would only lead to our deaths, and if we wanted to strike fear it would have been during your potlatch. It's a lot to take in, but I've every confidence you can see the value in our union.

Terani gets the impression that casting a spell in front of the extremely agitated guard might not be the best idea.

Listening to what the aasimar says, the guard replies, "I somehow doubt the prince would be negotiating a treaty with our sworn enemy during a war, but if what you say is true, my superiors can find a way to verify it.  You will all come with me to the guard barracks to be questioned by them," he says.
