Church Hierarchy (Deacons)
Recruit – (Level 0) A recruit is someone who has just been accepted into the order and is receiving his initial training. They have no vestments and do not wear holy icons; they have no titles.
Acolyte – (Level 1-2) An acolyte is typically assigned as aids, clerks, and assistants to higher-level priest, and keep that assignment through second level. During this time, the acolyte will be getting practical field experience in the execution of their duties, in the way the priesthood works with the population, and in the way the priesthood’s organization works in the real world. They wear pure white vestments and copper icons; they carry the title “Brother” or “Sister.”
Cleric – (Level 3-5) A cleric is assigned to a single community (a village, a small town, a broad tract of land containing many scattered farms, or a single small neighborhood in a large city). The cleric may begin training recruits and acolytes to further spread the faith. The cleric must also finance and maintain the temple he works out of. They wear white and blue vestments and bronze icons; they carry the title “Father” or “Mother.”
Bishop – (Level 6-7) A bishop is a chief priest of a large town (one with more than one church) or the central church authority over several villages. They wear white and red vestments and a brass icon; they carry the title “Bishop.”
Archbishop – (Level 8-9) An archbishop builds their own stronghold. They wear white and purple vestments and carry iron icons; they carry the title “Archbishop.”
Patriarch – (Level 10-12) A patriarch will hold prominence over a much larger area; he will be administering a bigger hunk of the map. Priests of numerous cities and regions in his vicinity (at least a fifty mile radius) will be reporting to him. By the time he reaches twelfth level, he will likely rule over an entire nation. Patriarchs wear white and grey vestments and blessed iron icons; they carry the title of “Patriarch.”
Lightbringer – (Level 13-15) There is only one Lightbringer and he rules the entire Church of Light Solace. He wears white and yellow vestments and holy iron icons. The title is, obviously, “Lightbringer.”
Messiah – (Level 16-20) Anyone who reaches this level of power is a living legend.
Church Hierarchy (Friars)
Recruit – (Level 0) A recruit is someone who has just been accepted into the order and is receiving his initial training. They have no vestments and do not wear holy icons; they have no titles.
Acolyte – (Level 1-2) Acolytes are usually assigned as scribes to some small-time village priest or possibly a traveling cleric who likes to train subordinates on the road.
Cleric – (Level 3-5) Instead of being assigned a temple, the friar cleric continues to adventure, defeating evil, helping the helpless, and spreading the good word.
Bishop – (Level 6-7) Instead of being assigned a temple, the friar bishop continues to adventure, defeating evil, helping the helpless, and spreading the good word.
Archbishop – (Level 8-9) The friar archbishop builds his stronghold at this point. He can continue adventuring however, leaving his subordinates to run the daily concerns of the stronghold.
Patriarch – (Level 10-12) Instead of being assigned a temple, the friar patriarch continues to adventure, defeating evil, helping the helpless, and spreading the good word.
Lightbringer – (Level 13-15) There is only one Lightbringer and he rules the entire Church of Light Solace.
