Scuzzy casino rats, I can dig it.
Before I became an Orkin man, I was a Corrections Officer, and before that a Military Policeman in the Army. I have been exposed to a fair number of greasy individuals!

Well, my title at work is a Tribal Lottery Runner, but I'm basically a slot tech. I do basic maintenance on the slot machines like loading paper, removing jammed money, and fixing basic errors, and answering questions on game play (which requires knowing how to play each game). On occasion, I also give out change to customers. This is probably the only job I have ever had where I am out to prove that the customer is NOT always right. All and all, I'm out on the casino floor eight hours a night. A lot of walking is involved, too.

That's cool. I once did security on a river boat in Louisiana...never doing that again. People are nuts...and some really have a system to get those slots working/Paying out.

The slot machines in Native American casinos are different than those in Vegas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. After having worked with them for ten years, I know there is no special way to get the slot machines to pay out. Though, I do find all of the superstitions that people have kind of amusing if not sometimes annoying. I've seen people push the button, then jump back away from the machine as if it was going to suddenly come alive and bite them. I've seen people push the button, watch it do its thing, and then stand up and walk around the whole group of machines before pushing the button again. The screen touchers are usually pretty amusing to watch because sometimes they really get into it.
Um, eww. I wonder how many times that kid has done that to his grandma.

You've done better than me, and I'm older than you. Though, to be fair, I am working to get out of this customer service environment. I just have to complete my college courses.

Customer Service, is my least favorite part of my current job. Having to depend on others to be home and that they are in a good mood about having pests in their homes is horrible. I feel like most of them redirect their frustrations at me...like I'm to blame for their bug and rodent problems. HorizonsDream are you a member of a reservation or tribal nation?

I'm originally from Oklahoma, so you would think I would have some Native American blood in me. Matter of fact, my dad's side of the family swore up and down that I had a little bit of Cherokee. That turned out to be a big fat lie (and if it was true most Native Americans find Cherokee to be a big joke), so I'm just some white girl that was lucky enough to get employment at a tribal casino since they have native preference. The customers are probably trying to place the blame on you. That is what they do. They do it in the casino too. I've been told multiple times that they are going to sue me (personally) and the casino for fraud. I can't help but laugh because these people are willingly putting money into a game that is set to mostly take their money. Ezeze Ah, thank you. I was super excited about being excepted into my dream college over the summer. They made me feel even more special because out of the 5,000 transfer students that tried to transfer over, they only accepted 1,500. I was one of those transfer students, and I was amazed because I haven't been to school in five years. I was super nervous about my first class that I took over the summer, but I made a 4.0 in the class so I guess I didn't have any reason to worry that much.

I've decided to become an English major. My plan is to teach English as a second language in another country.

That's awesome. A friend of mine taught English in Japan for several years. He loved it, married another teacher and has officially expatriated.

I just finished reading a chapter from one of my books in my English class. I don't have a clue what that chapter said. I read the words, I understood the words, but the meaning behind whatever the hell they were trying to teach me is completely lost.
It had something to do with writers using commonsense in their writing, and how what is commonsense to the author isn't necessarily commonsense to the reader. I think this first chapter was trying to challenge me to look more critically at literature using different theories than that of commonsense.
I don't really know why I put this train of thought on here, of all places. I just needed a place to put down my thoughts that wasn't Facebook. I think, maybe, this will make more sense to the people here considering that we call kind of participate in a group writing exercise that we call role playing.

This is for 5E, but I thought it was interesting: Is Your D&D Character Rare?I don't even know what a Goliath is, but are Aarakocra, Genasi and Aasimar also considered core races now? None are mentioned in the 5E PHB I have, so I was surprised to see them on the list.
