On the Eighth Day of the First Tenday of Ches, a group of four walk the road to Dagger Falls. Winter is ending and the Spring Equinox will begin in a week's time. Thus while the sun is out and shining, there is still a bit of chill in the air. Those with cloaks keep them tightly held around themselves.
The four had met in Shadowdale while staying at the Old Skull Inn. Eringard Miller, a cleric of Lathander the Morninglord, had grown up there. She had heard tales of a temple to Lathander in Dagger Falls of Daggerdale that had been destroyed in a mysterious fire eight years ago. Since then, all attempts to rebuild have been stymied by various such accidents. Eventually the temple, known as Lathander's Light, was forgotten about. But Eringard has been charged with investigating the ruins of the temple to see if it can be rebuilt. But Dagger Falls is no safe haven. It was conquered and occupied by the Zhentarim--a network of evil aligned mercenaries who ousted Randal Morn, the heir of Daggerdale, just over thirty years ago.
Thus had Eringard gone about searching the inn that night for help. This is where she met the three men with her now, who had all agreed to join her for their own various reasons. There was Drezden Thunderoak, a dwarven hillsman from far away to the south; Elvarian Hermongah, an elven adventurer from the neighboring nation of Cormyr; and Gribben Starstorm, a half-elven mage soldier from the western Silver Marches. All foreigners save for Eringard herself, who had grown up in the Dales her whole life.
The group had set out a few nights ago. They had just broken camp recently and resumed walking again. Their progress was slow, due to the heavy gear that Eringard and Drezden both carried. But they were in no particular hurry to arrive. In any case, they were almost there. They should reach Dagger Falls by that afternoon.

(OOC: Take a bit to get to know each other, as well as explore your own characters. Why are you here, what do you hope to accomplish, what do you think of your traveling companions, etc.)
