Justin Tyme
Justin takes in the sights and sounds and then heads towards the bar first and sidles up next to the McIntyres. "Greetings McIntyre Clan. It truly is a festive day and a good one to see you among us, Brother Clay. Rumor has it that your son, Ryan, is following in your adventurous footsteps. Surely there is more than the festival that has brought you here, Brother Clay?"
Justin orders an ale and listens to the McIntyres.

"But, Dad, the only way to be ordained is through experience, I need to try and gain some." Ryan says, used to being told what to do, or better yet, what not to do.

The halfling's eyes open wider at what Ryan says to his father and a smile creases his lips. "Aha - Young Ryan McIntyre - rumor has that you were quite the hero as of late. Come - tell this eager listener of what transpired of late."

(OOC: It is now 9 AM.) Ladonna, Ryan and Justin (Buho Inn)"Maybe," Damon says with a shrug. "But nobody remembers the peacekeepers." This is an old turn of phrase, usually in reference to the crown. In history, the people most remember the queens and kings that started or ended wars, but the ones who had peaceful reigns throughout are often forgotten. However, he is leaving off the second half of the maxim, which goes, 'but they are just as important.' "Hail, and well met," Clay says to Justin. "I, uh...I'm sorry, are you one of the Farboughs, Oakhills or Padners? I spend a lot of time away from the village, and don't know everyone here as a result. In any case, you are right, Ryan does seem to be a chip off the old block." He pats Ryan on the shoulder. "But I'm just passing through for today, to see my family. The church is sending me east to investigate some reports of a plague, possibly a magical one." Shanson brings Justin a cold ale. "That'll be 2 silvers," he says. "Experience will come later," Clay tells Ryan. "For now, what you need to know, you can learn from your books. And here. It's important to understand family and community to be a follower of Gonto. You can learn that better here, than on the road. Don't fret. Your time will come. Patience is also important to Gonto, after all." Theronymous Wiggledigit (Village Square)The squirrel does as bidden, and climbs to the roof of the stall. Theron's speech didn't draw much attention, but it did draw someone. Stephen Locke, one of the younger and newest recruits of the watch, approaches. Only fourteen years old, Stephen has short, dirty blond hair and brown eyes. "Oi, you're not going to cause any problems, are you?" he asks. "Sergeant Marche said to keep an eye out on you. Don't think we won't notice if anything goes missing during the festival." Jonas Marche, of course, was the one who had previously arrested Theron for allegedly stealing a bracelet, but was later forced to let him go when they couldn't find it on him. (OOC: Some of the stalls have walls, yes. Most of them are around 6 or 7 feet tall.)

"Problems? Me? Oh no sir, none at all," says Theron, trying his utmost to pretend to take the young lad seriously. "I haven't the foggiest what I've done to offend the good sergeant, but I assure you -- I am but a humble entertainer whose sole ambition is to add gaiety and mirth to this most felicitous occasion. And I am very grateful, we are all, here, very grateful," -- he sweeps his arms wide to indicate the entirety of Buho, "-to have such gallant, valorous men such as yourself protecting us so vigilantly!"

Justin does his best to conceal the pang to his heart when he hears his family name, but he keeps a stiff upper lip and says, "I understand the importance of family, for I was an Oakhill - but I go by Justin Tyme, now. I was away for some time, and it appears as though I missed the opportunity to help." Justin places two of his new silvers on the bar and thanks the server. He then takes up the tankard - raises it in a salute to Clay and Ryan, "May the road rise to meet you on your journey east, brother. Will Ryan be joining you?"

Ladonna can't help but wonder if Damon's goal in life is to simply be remembered? Did he want a statue of himself in the middle of the square? Did he want a festival named after him like his father? It seemed like Damon wanted all of that, but Ladonna had a feeling that he will do something foolish in the hopes of achieving that goal. "Well, anyway, I hope the two of you enjoy the festival," she says as she stands up. She says her goodbyes to Damon and his mother before she approaches Ryan and his family. "It looks a family reunion is going on here."

"Point taken Dad, I will do my best around here." Turning to Justin, "It's a pleasure to meet you Justin, and thanks for the comments. It was an interesting mission, hopefully we avoided an altercation with the Goblins."
Turning back to his father, "Is there any chance you would help me me expand my repertoire before you leave?"

Justin Tyme
The halfling listens to Ryan and his father interactions and inwardly wishes that he could see his own father once more. He has so many things he'd like to say to him, but he cannot. He turns to his drink and downs it, signaling for another as he places two more silver on the bar. As he waits for the drink, he converses with Ryan to occupy his mind, "Goblins, you say? What happened, pray tell?"

"It's kinda a long story, but we went after a group responsible for the death of farmer Otto, but ended up helping them defeat a bear so they could go home." Ryan responds.

Justin nods and says, "I am glad to hear that you did not simply slay all of the goblins in kind and you sought to discover the why behind the attack. It is a wise decision, and unfortunately, one that not all would have taken. It sounds like you and your group have the stuff of heroes in the making. I would offer up my services should you need them in the near future."

After the guard walks away, Theronymous continues to perform the coin tricks he usually incorporates into his magic show. Anyone watching him closely would notice that he seems to be paying more attention to his surroundings and the people laboring at stalls and milling about than he is to the coins in his hands.

Ladonna, Ryan and Justin (Buho Inn) "No, we were just discussing that," Clay tells Justin. "My son is still in training. He needs to remain here until he is fully ordained. The roads are not safe these days, not anymore."
When Ladonna walks up, Clay nods to her. "It is, at that. You're...Marche's daughter, yes? Weren't you going to marry some wealthy merchant from the capital? Whatever happened with that?" he asks, not being up to date with the local goings-on of the village.
Then to his son, Clay says, "Perhaps this evening, once the festival is over. We can have a nice dinner together, as a family, then hit the books together. It will be like old times."
Theronymous Wiggledigit (Village Square) "Yeah, right," Stephen replies cynically. "Just keep your nose clean, okay? Remember, there will be outsiders here today. So whatever happens reflects on the whole village, yeah? Sure you wouldn't want to spend the rest of the festival in the stockades, right?"
Shaking his head, Stephen walks off. Looking around, Theron notes that most of the vendors are still setting up their wares. Nobody is paying him too much mind. One exception, though, is Rolf Metayer, who is the local groomer and stablehand. Rolf is a human in his early 30s and sadly, he does not take nearly as good care of himself as he does his horses. Rolf's poor hygiene is somewhat notorious in the village. It's no wonder he hasn't taken a wife yet.
"What are ya selling?" he asks, glancing around but noticing that Theron doesn't seem to have any wares presented.

Ryan gives Justin a wink, "We will see."
"Yeah, let's enjoy the festival and worry about anything else later."

Justin TymeJustin smiles at Ladonna as she approaches, but when she speaks of the 'family reunion', Justin winces a little as if a blow is struck to his gut. He recovers and says, "Greetings and happy festival." The halfling then turns to his cups, frowning a bit as he is clearly not in synch with the others around here.
