"That definitely helps," Lillian says. "Our food is limited, but with you two," (She flashes a slight smile at them) "We have an extremely substantial amount of water. After all, it's a reasonably well known fact that one can forgo food for much longer than he or she can forgo water."

Katya rubs her face, trying to banish the fatigue that last night's sleep had failed to remedy. There would be no help from the Watch, then.
"Twenty minutes is not an awful lot of time" she remarks. "I want to head up to the church, to see if the Kohen is willing to spare any vials of holy water. Garnet, come with me?" she accompanies the statement with a smile, but it was only given the form of the question to keep it polite; Katya put the weight of her personality behind it, simply assuming that Garnet would do what she wanted and leaving the burden on the gnome's shoulders to either acquiesce or find reason to object. It was a mean tactic, but effective.
"Then we can see Rakit from there. We'll hurry, but if we take a little bit longer wait for us, alright?" This last bit was directed mostly at Jherek and Ingot, the two she most trusted to keep the others from leaving without her. She looked them in the eyes and nodded when she finished speaking.
Assuming no objections Katya sweeps Garnet towards the temple, by all appearances taking the time limit seriously, walking fast enough that the smaller woman is forced to break into a modest job to keep up with her. Katya is the first one out the front door with Garnet trailing in her wake.

As Katya makes haste towards the barracks entrance, Theron calls after her "Katya, wait!"
Theron scurries up to her as she pauses, mid-stride. "I noticed you seem to have something of a rapport with Master Augur," he says. "Perhaps...would you be willing to pay him a visit, and ask if he might part with some of those jars of alchemist's fire that he and his mother are known to make? I've heard they typically guard them rather jealously...but with the stakes as high as they are now, maybe he could be persuaded to make an exception?"
He says nothing further, but follows closely behind Katya and Garnet as they walk out of the front door.

Katya nearly turns to face Theron when he mentions the Augurs, her expression alarmed. She lets him finish his thought, though. When she responds she lowers her voice so that only the people near her - Theron and Garnet - can hear. Her reply is short - only about three sentences. "Sennah collapsed this morning. It's why Damon isn't coming with us. I can visit to ask, but if she's sick..." she lets the thought trail off.

Jherek nods understanding to Katya before turning to Lillian and Ingot "I was wondering if you two would come with me back to the inn, I dropped off all the smoked sausage and pickled vegetables my Da and I made for the festival last night, I could use a hand convincing Shanson to allow us to walk away with some of it. Then I'm gonna head to my families market stall. I figure Da left some herbs, and if we are good and lucky maybe a bit of salt and spice. Those will go along way to making whatever food we are all able to gather palatable. I mean, I got a pot to stew it all in, why not use it, eh?" He gives more of his attention to Lillian, assuming that the stoic genesai wouldn't need a kind faced smile to convince him to help.
"I figure after both of those stops we can go see if Bula has any food or drink she's willing to part with." He begins to head out alone if he must, but hopefully a charismatic Bard and a Gonto warrior would be walking with him. He would reply to any questions or suggestions as he walked.
((OOC: gonna see if Jherek has the common sense to not fill his wineskin with Devil's Blood from the Goblin' Tooth))

Ladonna takes note of those pairing up to go to certain places. "It seems we all might take a little longer than twenty minutes," she says to Katya with a light smile. "So perhaps we should say that we will wait on each other," she offers before she turns to Jherek. "You know, I might be of some help when dealing with Shanson. Him and his wife like me, and I might be able to persuade him to part with the smoked sausage and pickled vegetables."

The reeve rolls up the map and hands it to them, should any of them wish to take it.
As the party is discussing how to proceed with shopping and such, they step outside of the barracks. There, Kohen Clay McIntyre is waiting for them. "Ah, what a...eclectic group," he comments. "My son, I wish I could accompany you, as well. I feel you'll need all of the help you can get. Unfortunately, I have my own orders from the church. I must depart, as well, to the east." He opens his satchel and pulls out four vials and a small leather pouch with a tie string. Three of the vials contain a golden liquid, while the fourth has a clear liquid.
"I was given these by the church to aid me on my mission," he explains. "But I thought you all might have more need of them than me. These three golden vials contain healing potions. The fourth one has holy water, blessed by Gonto herself. And this pouch contains a small stone that has also been blessed by Gonto. Careful in opening it. The stone shines as brightly as the sun and never extinguishes. Goblins hate bright light, so it may come in handy." He hands these things over. "I wish you well on your journey. I will pray Gonto watches over you all and will bring you home safely."

Theron appears shocked by whatever Katya just whispered to him. He stares at her blankly for a moment, as if struggling to compose a reply. Katya continues walking towards the exit, and Theron follows behind her and the other gnome. He has just begun to respond by saying, "Oh...well, I-" as the three cross the barracks' threshold, the rest of the party just behind them, to find Clay McIntyre waiting to speak with them. Theron is surprised enough that the rest of the sentence remains unsaid.
He watches the conversation between Ryan and his father wordlessly, though his features perk up in interest when the enchanted stone is mentioned. After the Enforcer departs, Theron pipes up, "It appears that Kohen McIntyre has saved you a trip to the church, Katya. As far as that other thing I mentioned...I wouldn't worry about it. Shall we all see about our errands now, and meet up over at the northern gate in roughly twenty minutes, as discussed? ...with the understanding that, if a few people take a bit longer, we shall patiently wait for them." He smiles at Ladonna after saying this last part, then walks directly across the street and knocks on the door of the tailor's shop.
(OOC: Who wants to take the map? I think Katya, Garnet, and Theron had already started walking away when she offered it to us, so it probably makes more sense for someone else to grab it.)

Katya stops short when she comes face to face with Clay If he's going to stand still for a few seconds and talk, Katya is going to use Detect Evil on him. She's feeling a little bit paranoid. Once he has finished speaking she giggles at the serendipity of it all. "It appears that he has" she agrees with Theron. "Your help is appreciated, Kohen. Thank you." She addresses Clay formally, the picture of politeness. McIntyre's help is appreciated, but it robs her of the excuse she'd had to drag Garnet along behind her and that is inconvenient. She addresses Garnet, saying "you're still welcome to join me, of course, but I don't feel we've any cause to bother Kohen Hedra now." Then Katya heads out into Buho, at a slightly more leisurely pace, whether or not Garnet accompanies her. she takes a circuitous route to the Augur household, still intending to pay Sennah a visit for her own purposes. If anyone asks she will say that she wants to wish Sennah well before she leaves with the volunteers. It's out of the ordinary; all of her interaction with Mrs Augur has been though the church, but Katya is known to be devout, compassionate and law abiding so hopefully it doesn't raise so much suspicion that she's turned away.

"Your help would be much appreciated Miss Marche, some of the folks around here don't like the look of my gib...speaking of,!where would one find your father this early in the morning?" Jherek reaches for the map offered by the Reeve tucking it it into a large belt pouch before heading out the door. Announcing to the entirety of the fellowship, "If anyone needs help shouldering the load, don't be afraid to ask. My pack will be mostly food. It won't weigh much."
He seems momentarily startled when Clay appears outside. He gives the older McIntyre a long look scrunching up his face before turning his gaze to Finbul. He lets his mind drift for a second as the older man explains the vials he is handing over to his son and the party. "Now that's a proper send of Ryan, your Da brings you gifts from Gonto her same self. My ol'man gave me a crockery of pickled beets and told me to make sure I wash my armpits!" Jherek laughs and moves to stand next to Ryan and Clay, coming up next in line after Katya. He extends his arm to shake the the older McIntyre's hand/arm. He turns to give Kat a half smile, as he eyes the Enforcer before him, all he can think is 'we make our own luck'.
"I heard you wanted to talk Kohen, seems we've found each other at an inoportune time. Maybe when we both find ourselves in town, without the fate of the world on our shoulders, we can get a drink of Devils Blood and have talk?" He searches the other man's face listening and trying to suss out any hidden meaning in their brief contact.
Barring some great occurrence Jherek would continue with the plan entering the Inn in the wake of Ladonna, Lillian, and Ingot. Hopefully the people were feeling generous.
If unable to continue, because the Kohen strikes up conversation now...he passes a verbal list to Ladonna and Lillian for the vegetables and meat, then tells Ingot where to find the herbs, salt, and spices in his shop stall. The he would hand off 3 gp to the women and upon finishing his conversation move to acquire a cloak and new wineskin.

Ryan is pleasantly surprised that his Dad actually sought out the group before leaving on the churches tasks. He takes the gifts offered, setting them down in order to give him a warm hug. "Thank you very much, we will do our best to avert this threat and bring everyone home alive. Be safe in your journey as well, and my Gonto's blessing be upon you."
With wet eyes, he watches him depart, looking forward to the next visit, hopefully which will be a little longer.
He picks up the gifts from his Father, going to worry about dispersing them later.
(OOC: Since we're loading on more stuff, I assume we are going to avoid the swamp. If so, Ryan will spring for three mules, no riding horse. 6 torches, 6 wax candles, 12 ft x 12 ft Canvas, 40 pounds of horse feed will do to supplement the grazing.)

Lillian follows Jherek, if somewhat dubiously, towards the tavern. She is rather intrigued at the elder McIntyri, but becomes worried when she sees the young Hald-Elf eye said tavern. "This promises to end badly," she whispers to Ingot and Ladonna.

Much like the rest of the group, Ladonna is surprised upon seeing Ryan's dad offering them supplies for their mission. "Thank you for your kindness, Kohen McIntyre," she says with a wave as he departs.
Ladonna follows after Jherek, Ignot, and Lillian on their way to the inn, and she smiles when Jherek mentions carrying some of their stuff. "I'm afraid I am going to need you to help me carry some of the stuff I plan on buying for this trip. I know I lack the strength to carry too much," she admits with a small sigh. "Only if it isn't a burden of course," she adds thoughtfully.
Lillian's whisper catches her attention, and she looks to the girl curiously. "Why do you say that?" she asks. "I guess it is natural to have doubts about what we are about to do, but it is best to try to remain a positive as possible considering, as Garent and Ignot have said, we seem to have Gonto's blessing." Clearly, it appears that Ladonna thinks Lillian is talking about their trip to the hills instead of their venture into the tavern.
