You're saying that at no point in the Black Panther movie does Black Panther do anything benevolent? He doesn't fight evil or deliver justice at all? That's...unexpected.

I'm saying nothing he does is morally motivated. There isn't anything he does where the main concern, or even one of the main concerns, is "is this the right thing to do?" Any good he does is either because the woman he's smitten with tells him to do it, or happens to be a pleasant byproduct of defending his own interests. Which is particularly jarring because his villain is risking his life in an attempt to do what he thinks is the right thing, motivated by the death of his father and the injustice he saw in his youth. Killmonger is closer to being a Superhero than Black Panther is. Edit: I guess you could argue that Nakia is a superhero? But I don't want to get super hard into that take before you've seen it

I finally got to see Black Panther tonight, and it was amazing! So well acted and well scripted and well cast. I think my favorite part was: {Spoiler} Armored battle rhinos! I'm totally stealing that for my Renosia campaign!

{Spoiler}I know, right!? The armored rhinos were so cool!
That is my second favorite Marvel moment.
(The first is from Luke Cage when Cornell is sitting on a roof then just *pulls a rocket launcher* out of no where)

Just got back from seeing Annihilation.
Not really sure what to make of it. Sci-fi Horror...I'd guess I'd call it Lovecraftian, in nature. Very weird.

Yeah, it was very weird. I'm really not sure if I liked it or not. I'm not big on horror movies, so I had to look away a few times. The pacing felt a bit off, and I kind of feel like some important things were left out of the movie to explain what the hell was going on.

Just got back from seeing A Wrinkle in Time.
I remember reading the book when I was a child, back in elementary. Although the only thing I can remember at all about it was the concept of folding space/time, which was something that stuck with me the rest of my life (even as a 5th grader I was a super science nerd). So I can't speak at all on how close to the source material it is, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Just got back from seeing the new Tomb Raider film. It was...pretty mediocre, but kind of fun in a dumb, popcorn way. I'd recommend it if you are a fan of the reboot. Otherwise, it's fairly generic.

Just got back from Infinity Wars and oh, man... That movie was incredible. But I think it drained like 8 years of my life from emotional trauma alone.

{Spoiler}I honestly thought Civil War was a lot better.
The only two things that were really sad were the Scarlet Witch/Vision interaction where she has to force herself to kill him, and she does, then it just doesn't matter.
Then Peter dying in Tony's arms got to me.
But otherwise... So what? We already know they are going to reverse everything that happened in Part 2.
I am looking forward to Captain Marvel, though.

{Spoiler Infinity War}Loki's death was a little hard on me because I absolutely loved Loki. While I do believe everything is probably going to be reversed, I don't see Loki coming back.
I really cared less about the Scarlet Witch/Vision love thing. It felt so hastily put together that I had a very hard time believing in it. Quill and Gamora are a completely different story (and her death was a little difficult for me too). Those two had a lot more emotion, and what they felt was a lot more believable, which made her death more powerful.
Peter saying that he didn't want to go while clinging to Tony was just...ugh, that killed me.
I will fully admit that every time Thor, Captain America, and Ironman were in a position to die, I physically prepared myself for it. Then they didn't die, and I felt stupid for getting all worked up over nothing. Aside from being exhausted from lack of sleep, I came home from that move even more exhausted because I went on a two and half hour emotional roller coaster.

{Infinity War Spoilers}I agree, Scarlett Witch/Vision didn't do anything for me, any more than Hulk/Black Widow did. Felt rushed and there was no real build up to it. I realize it's comic canon, but still...
And just because the deaths will probably be mostly undone (I suspect Loki and Heimdall are permanently dead, if nothing else), doesn't mean they still didn't have an emotional impact. I mean, I know there's already a Spiderman sequel set for 2019, but his death still hit really hard. (Fun fact, but Tom Holland improvised that entire scene. Kid's got some real talent.)
At least Antman and the Wasp looks a bit more light-hearted, as I think it takes place before the Snapture, and Captain Marvel will take place in the 90's, so shouldn't be affected by any of this. But I'm looking forward to them both.

{Spoiler Infinity War}I don't feel like Scarlet Witch/Vision was rushed at all, but I also re-watched Civil War just a few days before going to see Infinity War, and their romance started in that movie.
I agree that the Black Widow/Hulk thing was super out of left field and weird, though. As was her I'm a monster because I can't have children! thing. Like, what the actual fuck? The entire world is in danger who the hell is even thinking about having kids right now?
Honestly biggest disappointment was the total lack of Battle Rhinos during the Wakadain battle.
Edit: I did see an online theory that T'Challa dying might mean Shuri puts on the claws for Part 2, though, and I hope Marvel is smart enough to do that.

Just got back from watching Ocean's 8. Never saw any of the previous ones, so this was my first non-sci-fi heist movie.
