Who is the one person you trust the most in the entire world? My mother. She is an accomplished courtesan who dabbles heavily in the information brokering business. I'm her one mistake she does not regret (her own words to me). I basically grew up on my own on the streets, free to carve a place of prominence among the local rabble, save for the lessons she gave me in her spare time: they were about keeping our eyes and ears open, lying and manoeuvring to reach our goals, and striking decisively against those who would stand in our way. I believe she actually loves me. That said, I've lain awake some nights, thinking I might just be one of her devious plays, if only her most ambitious yet.
Does your father love you? Does it matter to you that he does/doesn't? No and no. My father was not even aware of my existence for much of my life, and as an elf that's an awfully long time, even for a young adult. I did not even know who he was, and it took me a while to figure it out. After I did, I went to him one night with the intent to confront him and maybe kill him. I had no real reason to do so other than a strong yet vague resentment. When I did confront him, I quickly realised what my mother had seen in him. It was plain to see he was cunning and crafty, and incredibly unafraid for an elf who knew his life hanged by a thread. Once he knew who I was, he asked if I had come to take my rightful place in the family business. I said yes. When I told my mother, she simply acknowledged my decision.
You've killed before. Who, and why? My first deliberate kill was orchestrated according to my mother's lessons, but the target was of my own choosing: a rival from my street life, enticed by false rumours to a secluded place, then poisoned and left to die with planted evidence incriminating his most trusted lieutenant. It felt like an accomplishment. Subsequently, I've taken lives very rarely. Apparently, it's very rare that killing is your best option, and people worth killing are usually too well protected or too well connected to do do so without repercussions.
You were placed on this little outing to 'protect an investment.' What do you think that means? I know for a fact that my family's company made some serious contributions to the Admiral's campaign and overall success, and this would be the time to cash in the favour with some serious concessions. The heads of the family might be worried about the admiral's personal safety, or about a rival company's attempt to undermine or divert said favour. Alternatively, but probably less likely, some other member of the expedition is of value to the family business. All this is just speculation. Heck, it might simply mean that I was the one in danger and this was the best way to 'move' me out of the city and to the capital, where I might still ply my craft.

Clearly, you're ruthless. Cutthroat. You were raised to be, and you've embraced it and excelled by it. Do you think you're evil? Do you think evil really even exists? If you are not evil - is there anything that is? If you are evil - are you redeemable?
Is there anything you're not willing to do to get ahead? Any lines that are sacrosanct to you? Hurting animals? Hurting children?
How do you feel about Shipshaven? Do you have an emotional attachment to it?
How do you feel about the war? There is a lot of propaganda that this war was Just. Narin was attacked, and defended its self, and has emerged victorious. What do you think about that?
How has the war impacted you personally?

Clearly, you're ruthless. Cutthroat. You were raised to be, and you've embraced it and excelled by it. Do you think you're evil? Do you think evil really even exists? If you are not evil - is there anything that is? If you are evil - are you redeemable?
I do not see myself as evil, but then few people actually do. According to my worldview, real Evil, the one that demons an devils are made of, exists in few, abhorrent people: the ones that do harm for harm's sake, or take pleasure in the suffering of others, those that would like to see the world burn. Real Evil is a rare thing, fortunately, just as real Good is. The rest is just people, the great majority who needs to decide with their peers and with themselves what the rules are in the great struggle that is life. My take on it: whatever you can get away with. It would be foolish to think otherwise.
Is there anything you're not willing to do to get ahead? Any lines that are sacrosanct to you? Hurting animals? Hurting children?
No limits, no restraints, other than exceptionally disturbing act require exceptionally good reasons to be considered worthwhile: I play the long game, I expect to live and thrive in this country and that often means respecting the law and the customs of the land. Now, as for family... well, nothing is absolute, and I consider myself a late arrival anyway, but to sacrifice it in any way would be a big line to step for me.
How do you feel about Shipshaven? Do you have an emotional attachment to it?
Shipshaven is my home, the place I was born and raised in: so many memories, both good and bad, are tied to this place. More to the point, it's one of the few places in the kingdom where equal opportunities are promised to all citizens: the chance to raise above my own station using guile and ambition is all I ask of this world.
How do you feel about the war? There is a lot of propaganda that this war was Just. Narin was attacked, and defended its self, and has emerged victorious. What do you think about that?
Rulers often feel the need to justify their policies in an attempt to maintain order within their nation's borders. I feel they've done a pretty good job of selling the war to us people. As for the truth of the matter, I do not know nor particularly care, since I was not harmed directly.
How has the war impacted you personally?
The war was surprisingly good for business, with plenty of opportunities for secret deals, sabotages to be performed or prevented, and an overall brisk trade of favours flourishing as the hostilities continued. That was an environment I thrived in, leading me to cement my position within the company's structure. However, now is the time to divide the spoils of war and trace the course for what everyone believe will be a good spell of peace: a good time to make or break fortunes, but a very dangerous time for those of us that might find themselves 'expendables'.

A few more questions!
What does Verdant Corp actually do?
What makes a good friend? What makes a bad one?
What kind of person could you never, ever get along with?

What does Verdant Corp actually do?Verdant corp is a conglomerate of Elven and old-money human interests. It started as a lumbering company, capitalising on the riches of ancient elven estates, and that still constitutes part of its core business (especially with the recent naval commissions). However, it wasn't much later on that it started dealing in other natural resources, from furs to exotic plants and alchemical ingredients found within its domains, then manufactured items both outsourced and made in house, and finally the transportation of said goods and others' along trade routes. It is quite the company, but even then it grew from the original founders through marriages and apprenticeships in order to maintain a high level of internal cohesion, just like family businesses do. What makes a good friend? What makes a bad one?A friend is someone who actively helps you become a better version of yourself. Friendship is something halfway between an investment and a gamble. It requires an expenditure of resources by two people in the hope of gaining more than what they put in though synergy. As with gambles and investments, they may or may not say off, and that's what makes them good or bad. What kind of person could you never, ever get along with?Unpredictable people, those who do things on the spur of the moment even if it does them no good, just because.
