Jaeron (Main Mast)"Good enough," Varil says, scribbling down some notes. "Just working out some calculations. You know anything about magical propulsion systems? Legends say they were all the rage back in Eonia, but that sort of technology was lost after the Carnage War. Supposedly, they let you pilot ships without rowing or sails. There were even ships that sailed in the air, instead of the sea. It really makes you realize how far we have to go before we catch up with them, doesn't it?" Jaeron thinks on it for a moment be for saying "I may recall some of the history behind that technology however I'm not exactly sure how to implement it. It really does make you think as you said how far we have to go to catch up with their advanced technology."Ancient History [Carnage War] (15) HgsQr3Fz1d20 1d20

"When will we arrive Tu'Valie?" Senllip asks.

Kalana, Senllip and Mathias (The Helm) "If the weather holds and the wind favors us, I'd estimate we should arrive in a little over four days," Toven tells Senllip.
"Maybe sooner, if we're lucky," Julak adds.
"And perhaps longer, if we are not," Toven says. "But our supplies will last at least a week, so we should be fine, even if we are delayed a few days."
Jaeron (Main Mast) Jaeron thinks back to the Carnage War, which was the very ending of the Eonian Empire's reign. It was also the height of its power, at least before it was destroyed. Legends say they had all sorts of magical technology available to them. Flying ships, long range communication devices, and even the flying city itself, Infinity. When Infinity crashed into the ocean, many of those artifacts were lost to the depths, but sometimes they are salvaged by the Magi of the Deep or some other group of historians or archeologists or treasure hunters.
Airlinn, the flying island to the north, is believed to have been a fragment of Infinity that remained afloat. Nobody has ever been up there before, but rumors are it is the motherlode of such artifacts.
Arieal (Crow's Nest) Having completed its duty and been fed, the gull flies off again. Unfurling the scroll, Arieal reads it over. It appears to be hastily scribbled, making it difficult to read. But she pieces together it is a distress call from the Children of Meer. They are being attacked by the Bloody Chain.
"You better get that to the captain," Donata says, looking over her shoulder at the note.

Jaeron "You never know Varil hunting pirates out here we just may find some of the lost artifacts that helped Infinity itself fly." the gnome finishes after retelling the information he just recalled from his history knowledge.

"Ah, you're always the one to point out the negative," Kalana teases Toven. She always seems to be teasing the man.

"Yes, good idea Donato." Arieal answers. She turns and climbs down the ladder and heads to the helm, looking for Julak.
"Captain, I have a message sent to us." she starts as she hands him the note.

"A flying ship...now that's something I wouldn't mind working on," Varil admits. "The ultimate vessel."
"Someone must," Toven replies dryly.
At this point, Arieal climbs down from the crow's nest and hands a piece of parchment to Julak.
Julak looks over the note. "Well now...a distress call. From the Children of Meer."
"Those weird water-touched cultists that live on that floating village?" asks Toven.
"Hey, any cult that involves that much sex is okay in my book," Julak retorts. "It looks like they are being attacked by the Bloody Chain."
Toven tilts his head. "The Bloody Chain? Odd...they usually don't operate this far south."
"But all those genasi would make tempting targets," Julak points out.
Toven nods. "I see. Their rare and exotic status makes them valuable slaves."
"Well then, it looks like shoreleave might be delayed a bit. Mister Divex, change course for the Children of Meer settlement. Full speed ahead."
"Aye, aye, captain," Divex replies.
"Shall I call for general quarters, captain?" Toven asks.
Julak nods. "Red alert. Prepare the ship for battle."

"How long will it take us to get there?" Kalana asks. While the delaying of shore leave was disappointing, she seems ready for a good fight.

Jaeron "Yes a flying ship would be quite the sight to see, imagine the look on a pirates face as we come at them aboard a flying ship."

"Mister Divex?" asks Julak.
"We aren't far; an hour at most," the pilot replies.
Varil nods absently to Jaeron, her attention drawn to the captain calling for red alert. "I'll see that the crew battens down the hatches," she volunteers.

"OH! An Hour! Luckily we just had food... Let's go save these Jenasi!" Senllip says excited and makes sure he is equipped for the fight.

Arieal heads to the bow and whistles again for her companion. Holding out her hand she trys to impart her wishes. Waving her hand she send the tern ahead of them and waits for a while enjoying the breeze in her face before closing her eyes and letting her mind reach out and find the vision of the bird.

Mathias chuckles softly as everyone on board the Tiaru suddenly bursts into action. "Seems I picked a fine time to enlist myself," he says, more to himself than anyone else. In a louder, more serious voice he asks, "Where do you want me, Captain?"

Jaeron "I shall assist you Varil." the gnome sets off to see that the hatches get battened down.
