"Looks like someone got an upgrade," Ladonna says to Ignot before she turns to Stephen. "We don't know how long we will be gone. But we will hopefully come back with a cure," she says.

When Katya arrived she was leading Oliver by the reigns.
The stallion follows her dutifully, hanging nearer to Katya than required by her grip.
"Acolyte, perhaps you would feel more comfortable riding?" She pats the horse's muzzle. "Oliver can be spirited, but he'll behave if I'm leading him."

"Although we are not...expecting battle on this...expedition, if it should...come to such, I am hopeful...that this new armor will...serve as better protection," Ingot explains. "It was...quite expensive."
Garnet looks up at the horse, which towers over her three and a half foot frame, and fearfully takes a step back. "Uh...n-no, I'd rather w-walk," she says.
Stephen seems skeptical at the claim of returning with a cure, but he doesn't question it. He opens the gate to let them pass. As soon as they are on the other side, he closes them again. Liala starts a bit at the sound, and looks back over her shoulder at the now closed gate. "I've never left the village before. Not even out to the farms," she comments.

"Let me know if you change your mind" Katya says to Garnet.
She looks out into the forest then asks the obvious question, one she cannot believe didn't occur to her earlier.
"... Does anyone know the way to the temple?"

"Most of us were the same," Ladonna says to Liala. "But I looked at it as kind of an adventure," she explains before she answers Katya. "We are going to have to talk to Ubisek first, since the temple is in his territory. He probably knows where it is," she explains. "Katya, I suggest you lead the way. Ignot can be at our backs, and the rest of us can be in the middle."

Katya nods her head in agreement with Ladonna.
"I thought if someone already knew where it was it would be faster to go there directly, but I suppose it's unreasonable to ask anyone to remember how to get to an abandoned temple of the Mad God."
She moves to take the lead, going to the South towards goblin territory. "It will be good to see Ubisek, anyway" she says aloud. "You'll like him, Liala. Just be respectful, okay? He's done a lot for his tribe, and they are very devoted to him."

"Me, like a goblin?" Liala asks. "It sounds so strange to my ears. I've never actually seen one before. But my whole life, I've heard the stories of how they attacked our village and killed our people. Is it true they have bat like wings and can breathe clouds of poison gas?"
Noticing the weird look everyone is giving her she adds, "Oh, uh...maybe I'm thinking of something else?"
The farmlands on the outskirts of the village hold little activity this time of year, even were it not for the sickness. The fields are barren, waiting for the winter's frost to pass before planting begins again in the spring. They almost feel abandoned, as the party passes by on their way toward the Hartwood Forest.

"We were all raised with those stories, Liala," Ladonna says. "This group of goblins really isn't so bad though," she admits. "And even I like Ubisek, and what he is trying to do for his people."

"Maybe we'll see Nak'skree" Katya muses.
"... and maybe Brakk-Ni, too. Ubisek wasn't sure what he was going to do with him when we left, and he hasn't sent any runners."

After some time walking, they near the edge of the forest. "It looks so sinister, even in the light of day," Liala comments. "Are you sure we'll be safe upon entering?"
"First the hills...now the forest...how come my visions never lead me to a big library or a warm hearth?" Garnet wonders aloud, albeit still rather quietly.

"Well, it is more helpful to know of danger in advance, rather than comfort," Lillian says. Realizing that this may not have helped Garnet's nerves, she quickly adds, "Don't worry. I'll make sure no harm will come to you."

Ladonna laughs lightly at Garnet's comment before she joins Katya at the beginning of their little group. "We should be fine," she tries to assure Liala. "We come in peace," she calls out to the edge of the forest, as she knows that there are goblins guarding the area somewhere. "We wish to speak to Ubisek."

Katya repeats Ladonna's call, but in Goblin. Her command of the language is still stilted and her vocabulary is no where near as robust, but even she can manage 'we want to talk to Ubisek.'
After a second she explains "... been studying that translation book we found. I figured a little knowledge of the language would eventually come in handy."

As expected, there is a rustle in the underbrush, and a goblin with a bow steps out of hiding. Two more, from different vantage points, do the same.
"You are the villkru who took down the Bloody Spear," says the lead goblin in recognition. "The chieftain has left standing orders to escort you to him should you appear. This way." He gestures for the party to follow, while the other two remain where they are, keeping a close eye on the party as they pass.
"Anyone else feel like they're walking into the dragon's lair?" asks Liala quietly, eyeing the goblins' bows warily.

"Not really, but we have been here before. No harm is going to come to you," Ladonna says to Liala.
