“Yes, thank you...” she replies. “Sorry, I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night, and I’m feeling slightly ill.”

Ladonna watches as the villagers pass by, and shakes her head at their lack of caring for two people passed out on the ground. She looks at her father...wait was that really her father? She reaches over and shakes him a bit. "Dad?" she asks. She wasn't completely convinced that the man beside her was Jonas, but they did have very similar features.

Ladonna Marche Jonas belches in response, and his hot breath reeks of strong booze. The smell is so strong it actually makes Ladonna feel a little dizzy. Beyond that, he does not stir.
Lillian Finbul helps her to her feet and escorts her over to a nearby picnic table bench so she can sit down. "Well, it's getting late anyway, so maybe you should head home. Looks like a lot of people are doing the same."

"Oh, ugh," Ladonna says as she scoots back a bit. She pushes herself up from the ground, and looks around. "Hey, can someone help me get him up?" she asks. "I need to get him home."

Ladonna Marche Ethen approaches and sadly shakes his head. "Ah, dear. He had too much again, did he? Poor man. I've been where he is, to say the least." He helps to get Jonas on his feet, steadying him by putting Jonas' arm around his own shoulder. "I know it's hard on you, the way he is. But you mustn't blame yourself. You were only a child back then, after all."

"Blame myself?" Ladonna asks in confusion. "I just...I don't understand," she admits. It is true. She doesn't understand what is going on.

Ladonna Marche Ethen nods sympathetically. "It is hard to understand, even for me at times, and I lived through it. But when you lose everything--your wife, your job, your reputation and all of your family's prestige and respect, well, it can be easy to give in to despair. And that can lead to losing yourself to drink." He smiles encouragingly to her. "But you've done well in helping restore that prestige, with the way you've helped the town in recent months. At this rate, you may well one day undo most of the damage."

“Yes, good idea,” Lillian says to Finbul, planning to pick up her rapier before raundevousing with the others.

"You're going to have to forgive me. I think I might have had a few too many drinks myself, so my mind isn't quite right," Ladonna admits sheepishly to Ethan. "But...what happened to my mother?"

Ladonna Marche "Oh, well you would know better than me," Ethen replies. "Does she not...write...from wherever she wound up? Sorry. I don't mean to dredge up anything. The divorce was hard on you all, I'm sure. She probably felt she had to leave Buho to start fresh, you know? Probably couldn't stand living with that whole affair scandal over her head. Not that anyone blamed her, of course. If anything, her only crime was trying too hard to be a good wife to Jonas. It was pretty strange, really. I knew her as a girl, you see. She had such fire in her. If she suspected Jonas of cheating, she would have tore him a new one, and put him in his place. But somewhere along the line, she became more passive, more permissive. Just let him do whatever he wanted. Oh, but again, not to say this was in any way her fault, of course. She's as much a victim as you are in the whole mess."
Lillian Finbul nods. "Right. Well, see you tomorrow, or whenever," he says, and starts to head home. Lillian picks up her rapier and now must decide where she is going to go to meet up with the others.

"I..." Ladonna frowns and shakes her head. "She doesn't much talk to me, probably because I am staying here." She lets out a sigh, and looks at her father once again. ~So this is what I did,~ she thinks to herself. "Do you think you could help him home for me?" she asks. "There is somewhere I need to be."

Ladonna Marche "Don't worry, I'll get the big lug home," Ethen promises. "Least I can do for you, after everything you've done for me."

"Thank you," Ladonna says. She leaves her father to Ethen, and heads towards the town well.

Lillian resolves to head directly for the town well, in hopes that at least one of her companions have already arrived there.

Ladonna and Lillian both arrive at the town well at around the same time. Only a single person is present: Uchdryd Gibney. Uchdryd is the son of one of the local farmers and usually tended to keep to himself, although he and his family do often attend festivals. He has the well's bucket sitting on the edge of the well itself, but doesn't appear to be getting a drink. Rather, it looks like he's pouring something else into the bucket itself.
