uuuuuh wut?! 200 steel?! No way he could have afforded that the other game  I don't remember what arrangement we came up with last time. But if it's 'fine' quality, it would be pretty expensive. Fine (+1 hit) adds 200 STP and masterwork (+1 hit/dmg) is 300 STP.

it's a sling made of metal. it's not a master work. i copied the exact description from the other character sheet. I think perhaps you intended 'fine gauge chain' when you wrote it back in 2015

Ohhh...my mistake. Then, let's say 25 STP then.

I'm 39. I'm lucky if I remember what I had for breakfast yesterday.
Anyway, most of the work here is done for us. Let me know what his new inventory is, and maybe give me a summary of what he has been up to since the war ended--including why he left Haven and how he ended up in Southern Ergoth. I think that should cover it.

Yeah, two 17s...place one of them in CON, and it'll jump to 18. Not too shabby.
Anyway, Neidar (Hill Dwarves) are mechanically identical to the Hill Dwarves in the PHB, so that's easy enough; although there is one minor difference. Neidar get one free language of their choice; this is to reflect how worldly and well-traveled they are.
Class-wise, you have a choice. You can go with a standard cleric, straight out of the PHB. The only difference is that you'll get a +5 to any and all crafting proficiencies and can start crafting magical items three levels earlier than normal. So normally a cleric can scribe scrolls at 7th level, brew potions at 9th level and craft everything else at 11th level. But you'll be able to scribe scrolls at 4th level, brew potions at 6th level and craft everything else at 8th level.
Another option, though, is the specialty Priest of Reorx class from Tales of the Lance. Here's the write up for it:
Requirements: WIS 9 Alignment: Any Weapons Permitted: Hammer, battle axe, hand axe Armor Permitted: Only metal armor Major Spheres Permitted: All, Combat, Creation, Elemental, Guardian, Protection, Sun Minor Spheres Permitted: Healing, Summoning Granted Powers: Turn Draining Creatures, +2 to all nonweapon craft proficiency checks
"Draining Creatures" refers to any creature that can drain an ability score or level. This includes some undead, like vampires, wights and shadows, but would apply to any living being that can likewise drain, such as the fetch, succubus or lamia.
Which appeals to you more?
You'll start with 35,000 XP, so if you go with the cleric you'll start at level 6, and if you go with the specialty priest, you'll start at level 7 (assuming single-classed, in either case).
For equipment, you start with 900 STP (steel pieces, the equivalent of gold pieces). Masterwork weapons and armor cost 300 STP plus their normal price.

specialty Priest of Reorx class appeals quite a bit if the chances of facing draining creatures is high. Otherwise the being able to do things earlier is more appealing.
STR 11 INT 10 DEX 10 CON 17 WIS 17 CHA 8

There are pros and cons to either.
The specialty priest has fewer spells and abilities, which means less to keep track of. They have a much smaller selection of weapons, but axes are included in the list. As for the likelihood of encountering draining creatures, I can't really say. I randomly roll a lot of encounters, and the game is something of a sandbox; so it all really depends on luck and where the party goes.
As a Neidar, he'll get +1 to CON and -1 to CHA. So that will change his stats thusly:
STR 11 INT 10 DEX 10 CON 18 WIS 17 CHA 7

Alright lets go specialty cleric then, I like the use of axes in there & I hate to do it but maybe I can swap INT and CHA score since I take that -1 hit to CHA. I hate the idea of INT of 8 but better than CHA of 7.

Okay, that puts them at:
STR 11 DEX 10 CON 18 INT 8 WIS 17 CHA 9
And at level 7.

Correct.
And because of his high CON, he adds +2 to each of those rolls, so that totals up to 41 HP.
