Alright.  I'll close the chapter, and next chapter will be in two parts--one for Hunner and the other for the rest of the group.

Here are my notes for the chapter:

Title and Theme
The title of this chapter, “Family Reunion” was largely a reference to Hunner reuniting with his estranged family.

Chance to Unwind
This was mostly a breather chapter, to let the party unwind after the tension in the South Woods with the undead. It was also an opportunity to wrap up Hunner's storyline. Or so I thought, anyway.

Gerrard Returns...and Departs Again
You can imagine my surprise when Kvard returned and wanted to bring back his old character. But then he ghosted, making the whole thing pointless. Now I have to find a way to get rid of Gerrard again. I'm glad I didn't allow him to have a henchman like he asked; that would have been even more work for me. Oh, well. We already have a White Robed Mage already, so he was a bit redundant anyway, I suppose.

Choosing a Faction
The party came really close to actually choosing a faction after three years, but then backed out at the very last moment.  I think a problem is Ravarie seems to want to convince these various factions to work together to help her people, but doesn't want to get her people involved, nor does she want to join any of them herself.  Most factions are probably going to see through that, and suspect she's trying to manipulate them for her own ends.  Of course, as I said before, the party isn't required to join a faction, but they will be hard pressed to convince any of them to do anything otherwise.  Staying independent is basically hard mode.  It's possible, just much more difficult.

NPC Reaction Updates
Kori gets a +1 to Chatty for helping her search the castle for secret doors.

Faction Updates
No changes in faction relationships.

Divine Favor Updates
No divine favor was earned.

That was the original plan that Ravarie said, unite a few of the factions. Though, it is clear that she is going to have to join a faction to unite the factions, so that is the plan in Zhea Harbor.

So Zalura is going to leave the main group and stick with Hunner? Wow, and after I learned Dargonesti and everything. Shame, I was really curious about where this "demon" thing was going.

So it looks like it's going to be the Ravarie show for the foreseeable future. I don't mind too much, though. It would be nearly impossible for Kori to carry a story by herself.

Well, I mean, she is his henchman.  Makes sense she'd stick with him, especially as she doesn't have any kind of bond with anyone else in the party.

And yeah, this game has basically been the Ravarie Show for awhile now.  I've just given up and leaned into it.  She's the only one with any concrete goals or objectives, everyone else is just kind of tagging along with her.  The same thing happened in my last two Octhanian games.  I think I just need to stop hosting sandboxes; this happens literally every time.

I don't mind too much. Maybe if I played a character whose goal in life isn't to do nothing, I could drive the story a bit.

Yes, I know it's not fair for one player to shoulder the entire game's narrative, but like I said, I won't be doing any more sandboxes, so hopefully this stops being an issue for future games.

Wouldnt Zalura be more helpful in the elf group?
Hunner cant communicate with her.

He can communicate with her.  Telepathically, remember?  That's how he recruited her in the first place.

And she's his henchman.  But if you don't want her anymore, you can cut her loose.
