"Not quite, Teakettle. I protested against picking the lock just to go looking around the compound. If we go, we need to go for real, and after today's events I'm more certain than ever that escape is necessary sooner rather than later. But Runt is also right - there are many obstacles to a successful escape, and we must consider carefully how we can circumvent them. If we had any sort of allies on the outside, a successful escape would be much easier..."

"Oh! Oh! I know!" Teakettle's hand shoots up like she's answering a question in class.
"We'll just take Bolbus with us!"

"The idea of escape is good," Ravarie admits. "But we are in the middle of their city. We don't blend in, and even if we did escape the city we would still have to find a way to make it to the border without getting caught too."

"All true, m'lady" Dorias replies, "but we don't necessarily have to make it to the border by land. Morgash Bay is not far from here, and I am quite a skilled sailor, if I say so myself. If we can make it to the coast, we may be able to commandeer a small boat and sail beyond the reach of the ogres. But I suppose the first order of business is still to work out how to get out of here without raising an immediate alarm."

"I mean, we still have to get through here and most of the city," Ravarie says. "But if the plan is good enough, I'll go along. Never been on a boat before though."

The party discusses possible ways to escape over the next couple of days while they recover. By Rannmont 19th, they are hale again and are told that morning they have a new match. After breakfast, Bolbus comes to collect them. "Ready your things," he tells them. "This next match should be much flashier than the last. Hopefully more people show up for it, despite the weather."
===========
It is Rannmont 19, 360 AC, at High Watch. Casters can pick new spells. Everyone is at full health.

Teakettle makes a show of 'stretching' and warming up. She spent most of last fight running, and expects to do the same this time.

Runt gathers his things without complaint as before, and checks their straps carefully to ensure everything is secure but easily grabbed. He doesn't much like Bulbos's pleasure at the match potentially being 'flashier'. The big Draconian grunts to let the ogre know he'd heard but had nothing further to add.

"Flashier how?" Ravarie asks as she gather's her things.

Grognak grunts indignantly at Bolbus’ request. “Not know...sing when get stabbed?” he answers Ravarie in a sarcastic tone.

"It took some string pulling, but I managed to get you a fight with much tougher opponents than sligs," Bulbos explains. "They even have a couple of spellcasters with them, so that should make things more interesting."
He leads them out of their cell, back into the waiting room to prepare for the fight and listen for the announcer to introduce them.

"I'm not sure if that makes it more interesting," Ravarie mutters under her breath as she follows after the rest of the group.

"A couple of spellcasters? Sounds ominous," Dorias quips. "Does 'flashier' perchance also entail an expectation of more bloodshed than usual, noble Bulbos?"
OOC: Dorias will load up on enlarge x2, reduce, and strength. He'll cast strength on himself and offer Runt and Grognak each a casting of enlarge.
Strength spell FRnMMDyq1d8
Edit: Yowza! Dorias is at 18/30 Strength again! I'm going to steel myself for a run of bad luck on the attack rolls now...

"Mnn. Sharp-ears smart."Runt nudges Ravarie gently(or as gentle as the towering brute can manage) with a shoulder in agreement. He checks his weapons again. He might complain that Sligs were easy to make Bulbos feel better-that didn't mean he wasn't perfectly happy brow-beating weaker opponents for the rest of his days. He accepts the spell from Dorias without complaint, stubby wings clattering as they unfold and fold against his back to get warmed up for combat.

In the moments before the fight Teakettle digs into her pouches. She always manages to accumulate the most interesting of things. Better to know what's in there now than mid-fight.
