Drezden having previously lit his lantern sets it down on the desk for a minute turns and says "Well drawers are locked if someone wants ta try and pick em otherwise nothing legible over here." then picks the lantern back up and steps out of the way to the side.

"If they're locked, we can always break them open. The spike on my warhammer should serve for that," Malavar volunteers. Then, holding his spear in one hand, he carefully opens the wardrobe doors.

"I can help with any locks," Taska offers, and moves over to the desk by Drezden. "Which one should I start with?" she asks, pulling out a set of small, delicate tools from her pack.
Meanwhile, Malavar opens up the wardrobe to reveal it holds several moth-eaten robes, an old cloak, and a pair of human-sized traveling boots.

"Just some old clothes over here," Malavar says. "About what you'd expect."
Before closing the doors again, he uses his spear to push the robes and cloak aside, just in case there's something hidden further back.

Taska spends about twenty minutes on the locks, but is unable to pick even a single one of them. "Damn, am I really that rusty? I guess this is what happens when you spend more time sailing the high seas than working on your lock picking skills." Meanwhile, Malavar pushes aside the old robes with his spear. He notices a 4-foot-high dust covered statue maintaining a silent vigil. Surprisingly, the statue has bright, shiny eyes and they are focused on the cleric. Without hesitation, the statue jumps forward and attempts to pummel Malavar with its small fists. The first swing gets him in the shoulder, but he's able to get his shield up in time to stop the second one. =========== Taska makes an Open Locks check on the left drawer (1d100): 56, fail. oz9oi9SH1d100Taska makes an Open Locks check on the center drawer (1d100): 47, fail. 1d100Taska makes an Open Locks check on the right drawer (1d100): 84, fail. 1d100

"What the!?" Malavar has just enough time to exclaim before the little monster lays into him with its fists. Dropping his shield, he grasps his spear with both hands and jabs at the statue, trying to keep it at arm's length.

The strange dwarf-sized golem is quite quick, and before anyone can do act, it swings at Malavar twice again. The half-elf avoids the first fist, but gets struck in the chest by the second, leaving him almost out of breath as a result. Luckily, the others jump in to help. Dallion is first, cutting a large swath across the creature's torso. Normally flesh golems are more resistant to mundane weaponry, but this one seems to not share that invulnerability, because the blade works just fine. Taska, seeing the others moving in to melee, realizes there won't be room if they all rush the thing. So she switches to her crossbow and takes a shot, nailing it in the head. Malavar takes his spear in both hands, eschewing his shield in the process, and thrusts with all his might, impaling the creature. While it wriggles helplessly on the spear, Drezden moves in and cuts off its head with his broad sword. This seems to end the creature's activity, as it goes still at that point and the chamber falls back into silence.

"By Tempus, that was a close shave!" Malavar exclaims, gingerly feeling the bruises where the golem struck him. Dropping his spear and pack, he removes his hauberk and tends to his injuries, but continues to speak as he does so. "Who in their right minds puts a golem in the back of a wardrobe? There seemed to be nothing of value in their to guard."
