Wizards are seldom fools - surely they must have understood that you would discover the truth of the matter as soon as you were able to study the diary?"

Malavar searches Peddywinkle's face for any sign of deception--an eye dart, a lip twitch...something, anything. But the man's face is almost stoic in its lack of tells. Either he is speaking the truth or he is an incredibly talented liar.

"Yes, I concur with Drezden. The book must not fall into the wrong hands and if our experiences on the way to Icewind Dale are anything to go by, you stand a good chance of being attacked by goblins, orcs or worse on the way back to civilization!" Malavar declares.
OOC: Though I seem to recall that winter was coming when we arrived in Icewind Dale. Is it even likely that the road south would be passable?
