"I am glad to hear it," Sern says. "But wait, just your father, you say? What of your mother?" he asks, concerned.

"Ah, Lillian," Finbul says, snapping out of his reverie. He gestures to the garden around them. "What do you think? It's no protective shrub wall, but it's certainly something that needs attention. This whole garden is struggling to survive." He shakes his head. "Anyway, there were plenty of rooms at the guesting house--some nicer than others, so we should be all set now."

"My father was in the milita in Buho, until things went south,"Ladonna says. "He is a little out of practice, but with some training up he should be fine."
