"It's very nice," Helen responds. Joy nods to them all, then departs. Helen lets out a sigh of relief, and sits down on the bed. "That was...the most nerve-wracking thing I've ever done," she admits. "I think I'm going to take some time to unwind. I'd like you two to check out the area a bit. Learn your way around, get to know some people, try to get a feel for things around here. I'm going to need as much information as I can to keep my head over the water, as it were."

"Of course, my lady," Ladonna says. "I was planning on taking a look around, and finding a place for Ignot, my father, and Liala to stay as well."

“The same goes for me, as well,” Lillian says. “Finbul can’t very well sleep out in the streets.”

"Alright. Return in a few hours and let me know what you've learned," Helen tells them. "I'm going to unpack and maybe rest a bit here until then."

Ladonna bows her head to Helen, and steps out of the room. She let's out a sigh, and looks towards the group. "So I guess the most important thing right now is finding everyone a place to stay. Any suggestions?"

"We can check out the guesting house while you and Lillian look around," Liala offers. "Failing that, I guess we can try looking for places in town."

"That sounds good," Ladonna says with a nod of the suggestion. "If you guys find anything, then let me know before we have to meet up with Lady Escott," she says. "Lillian, let's take a look around town, and I would like to meet their mage as well."

"Sounds like a plan to me," Lillian agrees.

With that decided, Helen retires to her room while Finbul, Ingot, Liala and Jonas head out toward the guesting house. This leaves Ladonna and Lillian on their own, to decide where they want to go next.

Ladonna leads Lillian out of the castle, and pauses as if unsure of where to start. "I guess we can start with the harbor first," she suggests as she starts walking again towards harbor.

Lillian follows along with Ladonna, at least for now.

Ladonna, with Lillian silently in tow, backtracks the way they came, all the way until she returns to the manor entrance and steps back out into the inner bailey. From there, she looks for a way to reach the harbor. However, it looks like the only way there is through a large, steel door that leads to the garrison courtyard, which seems to be locked.
While they are momentarily stymied by this, a man approaches the pair. "Ho, there. Is there something you need?" he asks. The man is a large, rough-looking human in his mid-forties. He has a large upper body and short, thick legs. He has a big, bushy brown beard and his head is completely bald, making him look something like a very tall dwarf.

“Not in particular,” Lillian answers. “We’re new in town, and we decided to have a look around.”

"Well, yes, we do want to look around," Ladonna says. "But we are also wanting to learn more about this place as well, other than what we have already been told," she explains. "And perhaps learn about some of the more important people other than the Count and his family."

"I am Ser William Rolan, the Garrison Commander," the man says, by way of introduction.
"The harbor is kept under lock when not in use," he explains. "So even if you have permission to explore it, I assure you nobody of importance is there. Most of the important people, in fact, are in the manor along with the count and his family. If you are looking for someone in particular, I can try and point you toward them if you like."
