Fortunately, nothing bothers them that night. They wake up refreshed and feeling much better. The rest of the journey to Thundertree is uneventful. They travel all day the following day, make camp again, and then the day after that they arrive that afternoon. Gradually, the trail they are following becomes an old, overgrown lane winding between dilapidated buildings choked in vines and brush. Ahead of them, in the middle of the settlement, rises a steep hill, upon which stands a stone tower with a partially collapsed roof and an adjoining cottage. A dirt road hugs the base of the hill and wends its way between old stone houses, many of which are roofless ruins with interiors open to the weather. Other buildings appear more or less intact. The whole place is eerily silent. A wooden sign is nailed to a post nearby. It reads: "DANGER! Plant monsters AND zombies! Turn back now!" ===============
It is now Ches 23rd. Everyone is healed to full and have their spells/abilities back. Fosco did not bring any rations and so hasn't eaten, but he is fine for now--but he'll take a point of exhaustion if he goes one more day without food (unless someone wants to share their own rations with him; if so, let me know how many days worth).

"How do you guys want to handle this?" Orianna asks the group after reading the warning sign.

Balasar shrugs nonchalantly "We got and clerics or druids in the group that could turn the zombies and maybe talk to or control the plant monsters? Or do we think maybe the sign a bluff?"

"Logically speaking, we can either proceed or turn back," Klaxon observes. "If we turn back, we'll need to think of another way to find Cragmaw Castle, as so far the druid said to be in these ruins is our only lead."
Zoya takes hold of her holy symbol and looks at it. "I believe, that if I were to channel Bahamut's power through my icon, I may be able to turn any undead."

Balasar nods o the reply he receives "Very well then I think we could proceed with caution and be capable of handling the threats so long as we don't meet a large horde."

"Let's move forward then," Orianna says. "I'll scout ahead a little." Xdtag5w_1d20+4 Stealth 1d20+4

The party moves into the town proper, with Orianna moving ahead to scout around. The place seems completely deserted and deathly quiet. There are a number of buildings about. Some are intact, others in ruins. Nature is slowly reclaiming this place, as most buildings have vines growing on them or even trees sprouting from inside, breaking through their roofs (if they have a roof at all anymore). ==================== (OOC: Click on the map to enlarge. Orianna let's out a small sigh as she takes in the size of the ruins, and ends up turning right to check out what looks like a building.

Balasar "Appears nature is reclaiming these ruins." the dragonborn ranger admits then decides to try and assist in the scouting mission Orianna is on. THe Ranger tries to pay close attention to the trees and other vegetation in the area as well, one never knows when something might be useful.

The party moves toward the building just south of them. It has seen better days. Cowering in the shadow of an old tree is a crumbled stone cottage with no roof. Weeds are rampant here. The door is missing, leaving the doorway completely open. Balasar could have sworn he saw one of the shrubs growing just outside the cottage's open doorway moved. Odd, as there is currently no wind at the moment. 1d20·1d203syWAVFc

Balasar stops and tries to get the attention of Orianna and the others "Uh I think that just moved and there isn't any wind." he indicates the shrubs near the cottage's open door.

"Well, the sign did mention plant monsters..." Fosco notes, drawing his rapier.

Orianna takes a couple of steps back, draws her bow, and points at the shrub. "Or ot could be something else."

Orianna and Fosco watch the shrub carefully, but it does not move. There are two shrubs flanking the entrance to this cottage, but neither seems to move at all. This does not change when Orianna points an arrow from her bow at it.
"Perhaps you simply imagined it?" Zoya asks Balasar.

Balasar shaking his head briefly "I don't think so, be on alert." the dragonborn draws his hammer and axe and proceeds with caution.
