Thief question... Backstab...do you allow the 'sniper' rule like in 3.0/3.5 and other d20 systems meaning: a thief has successfully caught a character in a backstab situation and is within 30', a missile attack may be used and the die multiplied? For my current character it means 2d6 instead of 1d6 for damage. I haven't used it before but the way you explain it I think I will.

Outstanding! Thanks - I am ready whenever we get things rolling (pun intended). Also, any background info as to why we are going to Hommlet? I put something in her backstory, but I was pretty vague.

Well lets see I still need a character from Igordragonian & Rax I think. As for information as to why sure I can post something up in a new topic for that.

Oh, whoops! Didn't know I was still being included in the potential lineup.
Since I'm a bit short on time and energy ATM, I'll tell you what - I'll roll some dice and look over the other characters in the coming week and if inspiration strikes I'll submit a character ASAP. If not I'll bow out so someone else can get on board.

It all came about rather suddenly that there was a "boom" in people and then in this game you were interested but waiting for another game to finish up I believe Rax.

I'll give the dice roller a shot and see if the results speak to me. If I get bad or boringly average rolls I'll give the game a pass. It's nothing personal - as I told Daos in the Past Glory game, I have limited time and energy right now, so I need to put my energy into games that give me the most fun for the least investment.

Not bad. Certainly not boring. The last roll comes out as a 6. Did you have a re-roll rule in place for rolls under 8?

An 18 and 17 is definitely more than, "Not bad."

Yes the 6 is a re-roll qualifier. Other than that not "boring" looking roll wise other than that 6 that is going to go away.

Okay, re-rolling the 6. I'll do more than one straight away in case I keep rolling low.

Okay, final ability scores: 17, 10, 18, 10, 14, 12.

Well there you are not bad at all. But then again that is why i offer the re-roll for anything less than an "average" score. Unless anyone wants to run something with a less than average score. I am not sure how I would reward it but never really thought about it either.
Also remember In my house rules I did remove most all class restrictions by race.

Work on my PC is coming along slowly. After much agonizing I decided the party was severely deficient in dwarfiness and tankiness. I was going to bring a straight fighter with maxed hit points, but then I discovered the rather charming lesser deity Muamman Duathal in Monster Mythology (yes, he's also listed as being worshipped in Greyhawk), so I'll be bringing another fighter/specialty priest. His schtick is still having the best possible HP but also maxing out saves thanks to Con and Wis 18. When are you setting the adventure? The original is before the Greyhawk Wars, but since we have both a Touv cleric and a paladin of Mayaheine, I was wondering if you're going for post-war version? And if you're going for the original timeline, how long after the Battle of Emridy Meadows (i.e. the original defeat of the ToEE) is the game set? For comparison, the original Greyhawk folio describes the world in 576 CY with the battle having taken place in 569 CY.

Honestly, I know absolutely nothing about GreyHawk history so I had no clue I was just going to run the game and not really care about what "timeline" it was in merely saying it was whatever the current is but again I have no plan of talking "history" in game by NPCs since I don't know it. More than likely since someone is pointing the information out to me we would not go with the timeline of the original game and go for post-war version.

I mostly wanted to know for background purposes - what conflicts might my character have been involved in and such. The Greyhawk Wars weren't a thing when the module was written (they came later, in 2nd ed) so it works well if someone has officially placed events before the Wars.
