I'm not sure. I did remember to post right?

Partly because I was waiting on Bishgada to post (but now that I look, it's been nearly three weeks since his last post), but the other part was mostly because I've just been busy with other projects (like Overmorrow and Wyld Times), and as combat posts usually take 45-90 minutes, and ship battles usually take 2+ hours, I'm guessing fleet battles will take even longer than that, and I haven't had time to really jump into it.
But tell you what. I don't have work tomorrow morning, so I can stay up late. I'll put aside all other projects for tonight, and just focus on updating this game (and Matinee, too) instead.

Okay, wow, so after spending THREE HOURS working on the post, the forum swallowed it whole before I could finish it and I couldn't recover any of it. To say I'm extremely frustrated and rather defeated at the moment is an understatement. I was trying to cram the first few rounds together in one post, because that's how long it would take you guys to even get into weapons range. But maybe I should just do the first round only so it can at least go up. I don't think I have another three hours in me to try again, otherwise.

Hi, I was on vacation. I think I did mentioned it about a week before I left. Sorry for the confusion.
On my account whatever system that is the easiest for you is fine by me.

Yeah, I actually completely forgot about that. Next time, it might be a good idea to drop another reminder just before you head out. My memory isn't what it used to be.

(OOC: Since we are going to be boarded, we don't need a skeleton crew. All are going to fight. Why this round no one shoot at the caravel? I thought we had men at the cannons + ballista + crossbows. And at least few with crossbows. How many people are left anyway?) Basically, artillery weapons have a minimum range and the ships got too close together to use them. The Blue Diamond has 13 crewmen left, plus Senllip and Cassie, on top of that.

But crossbows can be used even at point blank, right? (point blank is a term right? )

Yes, I suppose, technically speaking. Although you lost the maneuverability check, but I guess I can let you fire off one volley before they reach you. Go ahead and give me a 1d20, if you want. But in fairness, that means the enemy ship gets to make an attack, as well.

I know in one of the books point blank range was a thing I can't recall off the top of my head if it was a proficiency or something to do with weapon specialization. But I feel like it was limited to only specific types of ranged weapons and or classes.

Correct, if a character with the Fighter class specializes in a ranged weapon (as Brax does), they get a new range called Point Blank that adds a +2 to hit to their attacks.
