Roshek goes to the rubble pile where the wall is partially collapse and after a bit of checking and digging finds that indeed there are signs that someone recently buried something in the rubble and it is safe not trapped or unstable. After a while of digging a chest is found buried under the rubble where the wall collapsed. The chest appears to be safe to open no traps are found and it does not appear to be locked apparently the bandits didn't have a lock and key at the time. Opening the chest you find it holds 2,000 cp, two bolts of fine cloth, a crystal flagon and four goblets, an inlaid wooden box with ivory handles and decorations, and four arrows.

"Well, that's a sizable amount of money," Narya says, relatively nonplussed.

"Well then, I guess the next step is to gather this all up, then escort these people back to town," Daos says.

"Indeed!" Roshek agrees. "This expedition is turning out to be quite worthwhile. Bandits captured, roads made safe, and a fair profit to be made as well. Muamman Duathal has blessed us for sure," he chuckles.
"I'm still interested in where those store room stairs go, but I think that can probably wait until we've turned over this horrid lot to the authorities in Hommlet and divvied up the treasure."

"Hold on, let me take a look at that treasure, first," Narya says. She examine the valuable items to determine just how valuable they really are.

Narya determines that the citrines are worth about 50 gp each. The two bolts of fine cloth are worth about 60 gp each. The crystal flagon and four goblets the set is worth about 80 gp. The inlaid wooden box about 45 gp. The gold chain worth about 200 gp.

Narya spends some time counting on her fingers. "It all ads up to 545 gold."

"Or about 630 gold if we include the coin generously donated by these ruffians, plus the resale value of their armour and weapons," Roshek notes with a wry smile.

Daos shakes his head. "I'm skeptical we can sell this much combat equipment in a sleepy town like Hommlet. We'd probably have to haul it up to Verbobonc or further."

Tristen continues to cover the bandits with his bow while the rest of the group excavates the findings.

Kevril watches the bandits closely as he tries to figure out how they will bring in the bandits when they are slightly more in number than the band of adventurers. "You make a good point Daos, the locals probably don't have the interest or funds for such purchases. What about Nulb? I thought there was a sign indicating distance to a place by that name when we entered town how much do you know about that location?"

"Don't be such pessimists. If there's no one in the village that's in the market for weapons and armour, then we can always make a gift of them to the authorities. Having spare arms in case of trouble is a wise policy everywhere and goodwill can be worth more than gold sometimes. Or we can check if the village blacksmith is interested in buying the steel to melt down. But, let's worry about that when we get back to Hommlet. Let's get this lot on their feet, fetch our pack animals, and march back to Hommlet post haste."

"Nulb? Well, I haven't been there in like twenty years, but from what I remember, it was a ramshackle little fishing village," Daos says. "Oh, well, let's get going regardless. We can cross that bridge when we come to it. If nothing else, maybe we can open up our own equipment store in town," he jokes.

"Haha, no," Narya says. "I'm not going to be to tied down to some town, no matter how pleasant."
