The group leaves the tower and Burne and Rufus head back upstairs after a farewell to the group. The group is outside the tower in the road talking. The works and guard outside watch, wondering what the new folk in town are talking about, eventually shaking their heads and going back to work ignoring them.

Returning to the inn, Roshek requests the room he was originally offered (room 6), collects his gear and mule, and joins the others.
