It wasn't. The stories were somewhat serious/ dark, from what I remember. It's been a few years since I've read Theive's World -- I just remember being impressed with it.

Cool. Remember what they are about? Thieves, I'd wager. Maybe I'll look into them after I finish Mythadventures.

Some were about thieves, I seem to recall a bartender and a gypsy-like character, and some sort of warrior type. It's out of print now, so you'll have a devil of a time finding it.

Did a little searching, the book I read was called Storm Season, part of the original Thieves World series. The book was published in 1982. I think I may have to start seeking out these books again though. The phrase 'out of print' is like a challenge to my crippling ebay addiction.
The series was relaunched with new stories and such in 2002, with three books being produced thus far. Those are the ones that are not out of print.
It's also interesting to note the series spawned a few RPG variations and some graphic novels too.

I finished Peter Pan. And now have moved on to Aesop's Fables. So far an amusing collected of some odd 200 little fables. They are short so it is a fast reading.

Just got the first 11 Thieves World novels, plus the four stand alone novels for $14.00 off ebay. I'm a winner!

Yay! Congrats!
I just started reading the second book, "Tales from the Vulgar Unicorn," in the series, and to tell the truth, I was a bit disappointed by the first short story. I don't know -- it didn't quite seem to measure up to the first book.

I just started re-reading my favorite books, the Cloakmaster Cycle. They are the only six novels written for the Spelljammer campaign. The first book, "Beyond the Moons" is written by David "Zeb" Cook, the creator of 2nd Edition.
The first book essentially takes place entirely on Krynn, which was my first exposure to Dragonlance ever. I didn't know who Paladine or Takhisis was or what a draconian was when I first read it.
This book also introduced to me the giff and the neogi. The neogi, in my opinion, are way scarier than beholders, mindflayers, or any other monster in the MM. I hope to one day be able to use them some day down the line in my campaign.

I decided to re-read all 42 Dragonlance books I own, even the really crappy ones (Kendermore...ugh...). Why? Because I can, I guess. I want to see if the good ones are still good (in my view) and if the bad ones were really as bad as I remember (or worse).
I'll probably borrow a couple of Heather's along the way, since there are a few important ones I don't have (like the Second Generation and the War of the Souls trilogy).
I'm starting with Dragons of Autumn Twilight. So far I'm enjoying it. I had forgotten how much Tas makes me laugh.

I'm up to Dragons of Spring Dawning now. You know, I never really noticed before how much Mormon influence is in these books until now. I mean, take Goldmoon. A blonde and blue-eyed Indian? Also, the platinum Disks of Mishakal seem a lot like the golden Plates of Nephi. I don't know why I never noticed before. It was actually a bit distracting at some points. Anyway, I still like the books. Poor Sturm.

Man, I remember reading the bit where Sturm dies over and over and over before I finally fully comprehended what happened.
I've just finished a large amount of Sherlock Holmes, and have moved on to a Neo Punk stlye book called Altered Carbon. It's painfully obvious with every paragraph that the author is just trying too damn hard, but it's fairly interesting.

You realize you posted you were reading Altered Carbon way back on the first page? Must be a long book. That was back in January of last year!

Maybe we're all caught in time loops? Nah, that just seems silly, doesn't it?
Anyway, I just started reading "Elvissey" by Jack Womack. It's a bit of a sci-fi/cyberpunk thriller type book and it involves Elvis Presley as a cult leader in the future.
Yeah. I like weird stuff.

How do you even remember he was reading that book all the way back then, anyway? I find that more noteworthy.

I am a nerd. My brain is wired for pointless trivia.
Right now, I'm re-reading the Legends trilogy in Dragonlance. Boy, does Crysania rub me the wrong way.
