Malavar is able to retrieve a couple of his sling bullets. Onyx, as well as the other animals, seem shaken up a bit, but otherwise unharmed. It seems the bandits were deliberately avoiding attacking them, perhaps in hopes they would be able to claim the animals for themselves if they had won.

Drezden brings back the coin and shares it with the others "Quite the turn of events the bandits get robbed by us."

Kendrivel offers some of the darts to anyone who wants any and pockets what he has collected so far.

Drezden hands out 3 electrum pieces to each of them, and 14 copper pieces. The final copper piece goes into the party pool for now. Kendrivel grabs another dozen darts from the battlefield.
===========
Kendrivel is now in heavy encumbrance, but as a priest of Uncle Trapspringer, this has no effect on his rolls or movement speed.

"Robbing the robber is hardly robbery," Malavar says to Drezden. "Anything these people owned was probably ill-gotten to begin with."
"Be that as it may, I remind you all that we've been retained to accomplish a mission. We cannot afford to risk injury or death by picking unnecessary fights. Until "K-man" here started spouting insults, there was a chance we could have talked these bandits down and been on our way. I do not wish to be party to such foolishness again," he continues with a hard stare at the kender.

Drezden "Well sorry lad I'm not going to surrender to a bunch of thugs either that is why I told them to surrender instead. Then when they finally deviced to run I made sure they'd remember not to make the mistake a gain of attacking, by taking out the very fool leader that decided they had the upper hand and to attack us. But yes now back to mission. Let's see about moving the tree and getting out of here."

"You and I remember things very differently then. We weren't surrendering - we made the price of an attack clear and they were clearly hesitating to carry out their threats. It took your new friend to make them angry enough to throw caution to the wind. Maybe they would have attacked anyway, but we'll never know now, will we?"
OOC: Just a reminder that Drezden may be able to tank his way through multiple fights a day, but the rest of us are all level 1. I'd quite like to complete both the adventure and to see Malavar make it to level 2, but the odds of that go way down the more we fight when we don't need to - especially when Malavar is out of healing spells for the day.

OOC: I am not going to surrender and give up all our belongings to bandits on the road regardless of my level.
Drezden moves to the tree blocking the road and tries to move it.

Kendrivel doesn't seem to hear Malavar.
=== [OOC] Seconding what GreyWolf says, Neither my character nor myself as a player will be giving up to a bunch of hidden bandits either

Ignoring the tree, Malavar takes Onyx's reins and walks around it.
OOC
Unless it's an infinitely long tree or the terrain at either end is suddenly impassable, I assume it's possible to walk around it.
That's not even remotely what I said we should do. I honestly have no clue how the two of you read "talk/negotiate/intimidate the bandits into leaving us alone" as "surrender and give up our stuff".

*sighs as the others discuss the events*
"They were thieves they might not have attacked us right then, more then likely they would of snuck up behind us and attacked. Also what is done is done lets worry about what is before us instead of what is behind."

Malavar has no interest in moving the tree. The others, however, worry that leaving it there will invite the bandits to return, or at the very least, hamper traffic coming in and out of the city, so work together to move it off the road.
The party then moves on. Eventually, as the sun starts to get low, they see a small stone structure at the junction of the Tethyamar Trail and the Northride.
When they reach the granite building, they see that it appears well maintained. Its thatched roof looks new, and a faint odor of fresh hay confirms this. A large opening faces southeast.
Twenty feet from the eastern wall of the hut grows a tall, young oak, its branches shading the building completely. Colorful flowers are planted all around, and their scents clash to create an almost sickly sweet odor that wafts through the air. The effect, however, is oddly soothing.

Deciding to stay here for the night, the party begins unpacking their animals. Just then, the door to the granite building swings open, and a figure steps out. He is a half-orc with long black hair spilling over his shoulders. He's a large fellow with some muscle in his arms and legs, but a pot belly. He is dressed in silver vestments, studded leather armor and has a club hanging off his belt. Proudly hanging around his neck is a large coin.
"Welcome travelers!" he bellows out. "I am Zedd, and this is...wait, Drezden? Is that you?" he asks, zeroing in on the dwarf with familiarity. He moves over and grabs him in a bear hug. "Huzzah, it is! I have not seen you since we battled against the evil wizard, Colderan Morn!"
