What about gods? And what races are allowed? Almost all races are allowed--the only major thing I'm disallowing is changeling. As for Gods, I have several religions, largely linked to race/nationality. Elshodi: Domains--Life, Light, Devotion Paladin Primarily worshiped by humans, who believe themselves to be the chosen race, picked by Elshodi to spread his blessing among all people. Strictly forbids Necromancy and Enchantment magic. T'Rack: Domains--War, Vengeance Paladin Worshiped by the inhabitants of the Scorcast Empire, which he founded. An Orc warlord now revered as a God in mortal form. Persephone: Domains--Nature, Tempest, Ancients Paladin, Druids Goddess of nature. Worshiped throughout the Beastlands. Archfey: Domains--Trickery, Fey Pact Worshiped by Elves as their god-ancestor. His followers have a noticeably warped moral compass. Cthulu/The Ancient One: Domains--Knowledge, Great Old One Pact Worshiped mainly by cults. Thor: Domains--Tempest, War God of the Dwarves. His adherents have a strong belief in honor. Bahamut: Domains--All Cleric Domains The god of Dragons, and many mages, too.

I'd love to get in. I have a couple of Cleric Ideas I'd like to try out.
Particularly an Order domain cleric. He would be buff/debuff and a capable frontliner.

Beastlands? can you elaborate? It's one of the countries/regions of Othus, as seen in the (blurry) map I posted. It's in the bottom left. I'd love to get in. I have a couple of Cleric Ideas I'd like to try out. Particularly an Order domain cleric. He would be buff/debuff and a capable frontliner. Order would fall under Elshodi, Bahamut, Thor, and maybe T'Rack. Starting at level 1? Any house rules we should know about? Wild Shape HP is now proportional to Druid HP, so Moon Druids are lowered from "unkillable monsters" to "really good."

I've reconsidered what I would like to play, I am curious to try out a specific Multiclass, as such I am going to go with a Paladin Sorcerer. Most likely either Human (Variant), Half Elf though I will likely tweak the flavor dependent upon stats which I am going to roll up now, as I love to fiddle with character builds and am curious to see what the dice gods give me to work with ... {Attributes, 4d6 drop 1}n_70VP0f4d6 4d6 4d6 4d6 4d6 4d6 Well, the gods have decreed I am useless. Point buy it is! 4d6·4d6·4d6·4d6·4d6·4d6

Hi everyone! Came over from GiTP to play a Swashbuckler Rogue. Gravity, you mentioned that there's a Republic of Music- do they still have a nobility? I feel like very minor noble is a good background fit for an Errol Flynn type. Anything else I should know about the place for his background?
Attempt at rolling stats. New to this forum, so hopefully this works?

Hello friends. I mentioned that I was interested in this game over on the GitP forums. I didn't realize recruiting was taking place completely here and rolled stats there. Should I reroll, or just use the ones I rolled there?

I saw what you rolled on GitP BBEG, so I think we should all just use your array! :nods: Yup! YUP!

For reference, 18, 15, 15, 13, 11, 10.

I don't mind at all if you use those stats.
(Also, I'm starting to think this game could use a subforum. I'm thinking of calling it "Aftermath of Ozymandias," for lack of a better idea)

Okay, here is my tentative character and backstory. Flynn MattisBackstory Flynn grew up in a nice home living a privileged life. Upon coming of age, he set out on his own hoping to have an adventure and make a name for himself. Flynn has had some adventures, but most of them started and ended in taverns, bars, and seedy gambling dens.
He has become a rather streetwise individual capable of talking his way into and back out of most situations. He also found that the musical instrument and singing lessons he was force to take as a child have paid off substantially. Heck, he has even learned enough parlor tricks to pass as real magic.
Flynn has realized that while he has learned a lot in the past few years, he is still yet to have any real adventure. Flynn has decided to put his modest fencing and magic skills to the test and answer the call for mercenaries.
Flynn Mattis is totally not his real name. Flynn keeps his real name and everything regarding his family a secret. He says it is protect his family in case he gets mixed up with the wrong people, but in reality it is because he is ashamed of how... soft his upbringing was.[/spoiler

Ok, I think I have the basics of my gentleman fencer down. Couple GM questions: 1. Any particular naming conventions for the Republic of Music? I defaulted to "Italian renaissance-y," but want to make sure it fits in. 2. What languages are commonplace in said Republic or common amongst the educated/wealthy? Alonzo di Maravoni, Gentleman Swashbuckler: www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2262836{Backstory/Description} Born in the Republic of Music into the di Maravoni minor noble house, young Alonzo was raised on bard's stories of dashing heroes and daring deeds. Although not particularly talented as a scholar or a businessman, he was charming and a naturally skilled duelist. He took to fencing with gusto and brought a flair for the dramatic, reveling in flashy, stylish moves and bantering throughout his fights.
Recently, however, Alonzo has decided to do something more. He's going to live up to the bard's tales. He's going to do some dashing heroism; maybe save a princess, maybe slay a devil prince, he hasn't decided yet. Something big, in any case.
I liked the idea of a rogue who isn't a stereotypical thief/assassin/etc. Alonzo isn't brooding silently in the corner of a tavern, he's swinging from a chandelier to knock some villain through a window.

No particular naming conventions in Music. As for languages, the official language is Common (or Humanish, as its detractors joke), but it's not uncommon for Bards to learn other major languages, like Dwarvish, Elvish, and Orcish. Common has emerged as the "merchant's tongue" in the past few hundred years, so people who travel or deal with travelers are likely to know at least some Common, but those who don't will usually only know their own language.
Also, I love how you and BBEG are basically playing the same character. Brothers, perhaps?
