Well, I'd like to see if Aerendyl answers Daos or not, if nothing else.

Today was hectic at work, got Caelin's post out, thought I'd have time for that, but that was a lie.
Did I really not introduce myself in the opening sequence? If so it was an omission on my part and not deliberate lol.

Yeah, I keep notes of everything I learn (IC) about each party member, to help separate what I know vs what Daos knows, and I realized that he never got Aerendyl's name. Figured he was just being all mysterious.

We really need to get Menlo out of the room before we bring the letter to the attention of the Mayor.
And remember, 400 gold would near bankrupt the entire village, BUT, Menlo's got 250, 'out of pocket', lying around? Where'd he get the money?

Well, either being a judge in a small frontier town is way more profitable than we guessed or it's more evidence of Menlo's crimes.

Oops, rolled dice in the speaking voice color. Alonzo does not loudly proclaim his rolls. He is, however, great at jumping out of windows.

Jumping out windows must run in the family.

Um, this is really awkward, but Menlo's a Commoner. Which means he has 4 hit points. 9 damage instantly kills him. So...

I kinda feel bad now, I only thought I'd wing him and be able to heal him back up.
Now there's no trial :/

I legitimately don't know what to do, I didn't think it would one shot the guy after he jumped out of a 20' window. I think Aerendyl turns himself in for murder ... I feel so bad now

Could start to slip towards antipaladin/blackguard. Maybe he's realized he enjoys murder? I mean, he did default to overwhelming lethal force even though there were several people right behind the guy about to catch him. It seemed pretty extreme even before the guy died. "I'll just beat the guy most of the way to death so we don't have to chase him" is pretty harsh. Perhaps he enjoys the feeling of crushing the weak, and that's something he has to either struggle against or embrace?

That's not something I really want to play, nor do I feel it was overwhelming force, the guy jumped from a window two stories up, that's 2d6 damage, which is higher, on average than a d6+3.

It was actually a first floor window. He just has really low HP.

Hmm, maybe it's a lesson for him on hubris/the easy path then? Like, he did it because it seemed expedient, but he's horrified at the result, so it prompts him to be more cautious/reflective? "Hero accidentally makes things much worse acting rashly" is a pretty common trope.
