"Out of desperation? That nothing can be changed?" Lillian theorizes.

Ladonna stands and nods to her father. She does hope that Relken isn't in any trouble because she doesn't have a lot of spells on hand that are going to help save him from danger, but she heads north, asking around and looking for Relken.

Ladonna Searching around and asking a few people, Ladonna looks for the missing knight. As she does so, she spots a crowd of people gathering together by one of the street corners. There's a sense of hostility in the air, like something is about to go down.
Lillian "Maybe? Or maybe I'm just not terribly charismatic. Even my own family never listened to a word I'd say to them," Finbul admits. "Nobody wants to rock the boat and risk getting in trouble, I guess."

Ladonna approaches the hostile crowd, against her better judgement, to see what is going on.

Ladonna Ladonna shoves her way through the crowd, where she discovers in the middle of it is none other than Relken. And leading the crowd appears to be Mannan Klass.
"You, sir, are a liar and a fraud! And the people of Hart deserve better!" Klass states. The crowd gets more riled up at his words.
"No, it's not like that!" Relken insists. "I swear, it's not true!"

Ladonna stares at the gnome for a moment, before she makes her way towards the front of the group. "What is going on?" She asks.

Lillian laughs. "Perhaps we can be of service. I expect people are more willing to rock the boat if it's already being rocked."

Ladonna "Ah, Ser Marche...just in time," Mannan mutters to himself. He holds up a scroll aloft and says more loudly, "Behold! Evidence that this man is a fraud! 'Ser' Relken acquired his knightly title because he allegedly fought bravely against the ogre raiders a few years back. But I have proof here that the real Relken died in the battle! This man is an imposter, pretending to be Relken to acquire his title and good reputation!"
"No, it's not true! I am Relken!" Relken objects.
The crowd boos and hisses, getting riled up further.
Lillian "As long as we're rocking the boat, and not swaying from the gallows, anyway," Finbul remarks. "So when do we get started?"

"First thing tomorrow, I expect," Lillian says. "Though I may have duties with the future Baroness to attend to."

Ladonna looks at Relken then down to Mannan. Honestly, she does feel a tad bad about what was happening, but she asked for this. "May I see the scroll?" she asks.

Ladonna "Certainly," Mannan says, handing it over. Unfurling it, it appears to be an official birth certificate that describes Ser Relken's appearance, among other things. The description describes a man who looks nothing like Relken.
Lillian "I'll wait for you at the guesting house garden then," Finbul suggests.

Ladonna frowns deeply as she reads over the scroll. She looks up to Relken a few times, and sure enough, according to the scroll the man standing before them wasn't Relken. "We need to speak to my father," Ladonna says to Relken and Mannan. "Could the both of you follow me?"

Ladonna "I'm afraid this imposter will not be going anywhere," Mannan says. "Except the dungeon!"
"No, you have it all wrong," Relken insists. "I swear, I am Relken."
"Then prove it," Mannan demands.
Relken hesitates. "I..."
"So can you or can you not prove it?" Mannan asks.
Relken turns to Ladonna. "Ser Marche, surely you believe me. Please, help me prove my innocence," he whispers.
Lillian Lillian returns to the guesting house to get some rest. It occurs to her that with the coin she earned today, she could consider moving back into the manor with Ladonna soon, if she wishes.

"How could I possibly prove your innocence?" Ladonna asks. "I've only just met you, and unfortunately my reputation is already not so great. I don't want you to end up in the dungeon though."
