Where do these previously unmentioned stairs lead?

Well, downstairs, where you hear the pirates returning to. But between the guards on the wall and the pirates downstairs, it'll be a stealth check either way.

I guess we'll return the way we came then, if it doesn't matter either way.

Horizons, what's going on with your rolls? You're only making one attack, but you're rolling for damage twice. And you're also not adding your strength to damage?

I've been replying on my phone, so I'm not looking at my character sheet when replying because it is a hassel. I'll fix it when I get home.

She edited a second attack roll into her post, by the way.

So just to make sure I understand, the way to the rope is clear, right? There are enemies in the courtyard and behind us, but we took out the ones in front of us, so there's nothing to stop us from fleeing, correct?

Technically, the rope is on a different section of wall. However, yes, the way there is clear.

Okay. Then it seems the two questions we should ask ourselves are:
1.) Do we think we can take the rest of them all at once? What's left, 5 Reavers, a werebear and the elf woman? I figure this is a Deadly level encounter already, assuming more people don't start showing up.
2.) Do we need to? We have the books, and we don't really have any reason to continue fighting a bunch of river pirates.
What does everyone think?

Well, assuming that the enemies are close enough, if they all run, they are going to get a free attack. The best bet is to have Rada try to hold them off while she rages.

No, 3 of the Reavers are down in the courtyard, the other enemies are a good 20 ft away on the wall. Also, though the path to the rope is clear, it's still 160 ft away, going by the walls and through the tower.
