Kendrivel picks up the sword, and as soon as he does, two things happen almost simultaneously. First, the image of the sleeping old man blinks and wavers, then vanishes entirely. Second, a stone door slides shut at the entrance of the room, locking the party inside the large chamber. "Oh, my. That's probably not good," Zedd notes. Suddenly, eight doors (four on either side of the room) open, revealing a number of undead. The first two doors reveal three skeletons each, all armed with short swords. The next two reveal one skeleton each, but they are both massive--nine feet tall--and armed with clubs. The two doors after that reveal three zombies each, all dressed as Zhentarim soldiers. The final two doors open to reveal two zombies each, dressed as Freedom Riders. All of the undead rush out of their cubbyholes to attack. (Key:D - Dallion, d - Drezden, M - Malavar, Z - Zedd, k - Kendrivel, 1-6 (small black numbers) - Skeletons, 1-2 (large black numbers) - Giant Skeletons, 1-10 (small purple numbers) - Zombies. As the door closes, That's probably ok, right? then the side doors open to reveal the undead. Ruh-roh...
Kendrivel will rush back to the others with the new sword, ducking and dodgeing and tumbling away from the undead (for the 4pt AC boost).
As he and the others are attacked, he will shout out things like, Stop! I just found it laying on the ground! if you had wanted it so bad you wouldn't have left it lying out there! stop that!
Once he gets back to the group he'll say, Hey guys I found it already! once we deal with these boneheads we can go!

The skeletons burst from the doorways, their rusty short swords drawn. Three quickly gang up on Zedd, their combined fury leaving the half-orc bloodied. The other three go for Drezden, Malavar and Dallion. Drezden and Malavar avoid the attacks, but Dallion gets hit and loses concentration on the spell he was about to cast. Kendrivel tumbles toward the rest of the group, the enchanted sword still in hand. Crying out in annoyance and pain, Zedd states, "That's enough! Let's see if this shiny new holy symbol works as well as my own." Holding it aloft, he continues, "Tymora is with me! Be gone, undead!" There is a bright flash of light, and the three skeletons attacking him, as well as the ones attacking Drezden and Malavar, begin to back off, terrified of the divine power flooding the room. Unfortunately, the skeleton attacking Dallion, as well as the giant skeletons and the zombies, don't seem to care. Drezden fires at one of the oncoming zombies, but misses from this distance. The giants stomp over, one going for Zedd and the other for Drezden. Fortunately, Zedd is able to avoid the attack. Drezden takes a hit, but the skeleton has no muscles, so it's not very bad. As the zombies slowly start to shuffle out of the rooms toward the party, Malavar holds his own holy icon aloft and calls upon Tempus to bless them with his might. Five of the six man-sized skeletons suddenly turn and flee for the far end of the tomb. But the sixth one continues to fight Dallion. Zedd swings his club at the giant skeleton fighting him, and Tymora smiles upon him, because he smashes it hard in the leg with his club. This causes the skeleton to stagger, and in the process, it drops its own club to the ground. Eying the oncoming zombie horde, he says, "Well, I guess now we know what became of those Zhents that beat us inside! Let's hope we don't share their fate!" Drezden draws his magic sword and slices it at the giant skeleton fighting him, but it just bounces off a femur harmlessly. The giant skeleton retaliates, cuffing the dwarf on the side of the head with its club. Fancy, glowing new sword in hand, Kendrivel moves around Dallion and strikes at the remaining man-sized skeleton. However, he has no training or skill with swords, even magic ones, and misses entirely. Hopefully, Uncle Trapspringer does not object to his using a non-kender weapon. Dallion lashes out at the same skeleton, but has the same problem as Drezden, and only scrapes against bone. Meanwhile, the slow moving zombies continue shuffling forward and the first wave arrives on the scene. Two go for Malavar, swinging their rotting fists at the half-elf, but he's able to block them both with his shield. The third one goes for Zedd, who is not so lucky after all. Bah! This thing doesn't work at all! Ooops! I forgot about the thing, Uncle T! But I missed anyways so it doesn't count! Heeey, anyone wanna use this thing? he asks, switching to his sithak and going after the skeleton again. If skel 6 drops before the zombies move, he will back up behind Drezden to prepare to fire arrows at the zombies next round.

Drezden and Malavar continue whittling away at the giant skeleton, their sword and spear only half as effective as normal against a creature that is all bone and no meat. Kendrivel strikes at the normal sized skeleton with his sithak, then backs up behind Drezden. Dallion manages to hit the skeleton hard enough to shatter it. But the victory is short-lived. The zombies begin swarming over them, surrounding the party. The kender takes a pretty nasty hit, but fortunately everyone else manages to fend them off for the time being.
